The Boy in the Next Seat, Natsume-kun

The new transfer student in class was beautiful and quiet, with the air of a young lady who didn't belong in a small town.

Her smile was hardly warm, yet she easily won everyone's affection.

Natsume was no exception.

Natsume thought that his connection with the young lady would end with that brilliant, fleeting summer.

Then, on graduation day, he received a gift from her: a button from her school uniform.

They say that if you receive the second button from someone's uniform on graduation day, it means they like you.

But she was a young lady...

As an adult, Natsume would occasionally see gossip about her in the papers: "Young Lady officially takes over the conglomerate," "Young Lady to marry into the Atobe Group," "Young Lady's romance with the Akashi Group exposed..."

When they met again, the young lady was drunk. Whether she meant it or not, she asked:

"Do you want to be my boyfriend?"

"Sure."
