An Ordinary Beta Who Everyone Falls For

A beta love story.

The role people expect a fallen aristocratic beta to play is that of a noble alpha's sidekick or an Omega's lovesick admirer. To stay in this circle and advance their own interests, they are supposed to be gentle and accommodating, like a coupling agent that fits in anywhere.

But he has no idea. An ordinary straight guy, he becomes an ordinary beta. He attends school as usual, goes to class as usual, and walks past the dazzling, dramatic battlefields of the AO crowd as usual, completely unaware that someone is waiting for him to take the initiative and ask for friendship.

So he also has no idea about the unrequited love and secret struggles unfolding around him. His cluelessness forces the proud and aloof ones to make bold declarations, and the cold and distant ones to come down from their lofty perches, but he knows nothing. He also has no idea how desperately his alpha roommate wants to smell the scent of pheromones on him.

In this ABO world, pheromones exist because everyone has retained their vomeronasal organs. Betas' organs have partially atrophied, leaving their pheromones faint and their sense of smell dull. As a result, the protagonist is outside the subtle yet intense pheromone-fueled battlefields, and often fails to pick up on what's going on.

Beta top, poor rural genius alpha roommate bottom.

Eventually, they can no longer hide their love. They say that, in their eyes, he is gentle yet resilient, a composed idealist whose eyes hold a spark that will never go out. They love his gentle, impartial kindness, and the sharp glint of the blade raised by his mecha when he destroys himself.

Cyberpunk, a mild-mannered protagonist who stands his ground, an ordinary yet extraordinary beta, and his adorable alpha.

Theme: Freedom and love are earned through hard work. He belongs to me.
