Lin Yu had been secretly in love with Shen Hong for four years, but his feelings came to nothing. No matter what hints he dropped, Shen Hong never responded, not even giving him a chance to confess.

So, on graduation day, Lin Yu gave Shen Hong a peony, expressing his "best wishes" for Shen Hong's life ahead.

Shen Hong couldn't make heads or tails of it. Then, that very night, he ran into Lin Yu getting drunk at a bar and being harassed.

He calmly pulled out his phone, reported the harasser, picked Lin Yu up, and carried him upstairs, all in one smooth sequence.

He thought this was simply what he ought to do for his uncle's son and a classmate of four years. But that night, everything went off the rails.

When Shen Hong woke the next morning, all he found was an empty half of the bed and the two hundred yuan Lin Yu had left as payment for the night.

His face turned green with fury. But when he went looking for Lin Yu, he found him working leisurely at his cousin's flower shop:

Lin Yu glanced up at the person who walked in, showing not a trace of guilt. He simply turned the sign in the middle of the shop around a few times:

[Peonies on sale! Going cheap! Starting at 10% off!]

They'd been 20% off just a moment ago.

A rigid, straight-laced top who can't read between the lines and has a stubborn temper x a hot-tempered bottom who's secretly in love

1. A romance-focused practice piece, mutual secret crush with one side unaware, both are each other's first, possibly a sweet story with a touch of youthful angst.

2. Same-sex marriage is legal in this setting. Lots of made-up rules, not much logic.

3. Peony = single man = Shen Hong. You get what "going cheap" means.

4. The first 30,000 words are written in advance. Updates after that will probably be irregular.

Theme: Love life, love yourself
