I picked him up myself, so I can't just throw him away. I can't, I can't. Yu Qidong reminded himself again and again as he held back this lovesick fool (smiling kindly through gritted teeth): Sure, then let's build a career together!

Those who had mocked him showed up once more: Professor Yu must have run out of ideas. It's been so long since he produced anything worth mentioning.

Then Professor Yu emerged from the remote mountains, carrying the award he had won for developing a new corn variety. He introduced the village's many children, all accepted into top universities, and unveiled a model village he had led in transforming an entire mountain into a thriving community where every inch of land was valuable.

Yu Qidong (smiling kindly): Sorry, what were you saying?

A story about a gentle young teacher guiding his students and the villagers toward a brighter future, helping their mountain village become a model community and prosper.

Reading Guide:

① The main couple reunites after a breakup. The seme was raised by the uke. Both are each other's first love and have only ever been with each other. Ensemble cast.

At its heart, this is a story about the protagonists building a career through poverty alleviation. The characters aren't perfect, but they are all kind people.

② There is absolutely no teacher-student romance! Many people think the seme and uke were literally teacher and student, but that's mostly because the seme deliberately spread rumors to show off how close he was to the uke.

② Someone in my family is a rural teacher, so the story actually focuses on rural education and the stories of teachers and students.

③ It's a partly fictionalized setting, not written as a documentary. (Important!)

No real-life inspirations.
