My Archenemy Is Always Pretending to Be Poor

Wen Suili has a sworn rival. From middle school through high school, this guy has always outdone him in both grades and height. He even stole the goddess Wen Suili had a crush on in high school.

Proud as ever, Wen Suili swore that he and his rival were mortal enemies.

But the guy was outstanding in every way, except that his family wasn't very well off.

He wore his school uniform every day, and sometimes, when his uniform jacket fell open, Wen Suili could see a huge hole in his T-shirt. Patch it up and wear it for another three years.

He never went to class reunions, either, claiming that he lived too far away and couldn't see the road home if he got back too late.

So the rich second-generation Wen Suili decided to hit him where it hurt. He'd flaunt his wealth like crazy and throw money at him, reclaiming the glory he deserved from his sworn rival.

Then Wen Suili's family took him to a remote mountain resort for a banquet. His father gave him endless reminders: the Lin family was their business partner, and the Lin family's son went to the same school as him. He had to be polite and get along with him.

Wen Suili was agreeing when he spotted his rival in the middle of the crowd. The guy who was supposed to be wearing his school uniform was dressed in a bespoke suit, radiating wealth and status.

So this was what he meant by living too far away to see the road home if he got back late?

Wen Suili: So I'm the clown here!

The banquet hall was packed with guests, while the Lin and Wen families discussed their business deal.

On the second-floor corridor, just a step away, Wen Suili pinned Lin Yuzhou down and demanded, "This is what you call being poor?"

Lin Yuzhou, who had deliberately pretended to be poor and was feeling guilty about it, said softly, "How about you throw money at me one more time?"

Tentative draft, to be revised.
