"This kid's romantic scenes are way better than yours."
The director pointed at Zhou Wenyu on set as he said this to Chu Shaosheng. Zhou Wenyu, playing a hostage prince, portrayed his gentle, restrained love and sorrow so vividly that he moved nearly everyone there.
As for Chu Shaosheng, people outside the industry saw him as an actor whose career had gone smoothly. But insiders knew he had one small weakness: he struggled with emotional scenes.
This wasn't the first time Chu Shaosheng had met Zhou Wenyu. The first time, the young man had been riding a little electric scooter when he picked up Chu Shaosheng, whose car had broken down, and raced him all the way to the set, saving him from being late.
At the time, Chu Shaosheng was the drama's male lead, while Zhou Wenyu was a nameless extra playing a guard in the background.
When they met again, Zhou Wenyu had become the fourth male lead, acting opposite him.
Chu Shaosheng watched Zhou Wenyu all the way from obscurity to fame, from youthful innocence to ease and confidence. He became a shining star, yet somehow hadn't changed at all. He was still the junior who'd been delighted by a cup of milk tea.
As for Chu Shaosheng, he had long since overcome his weakness with acting. But whenever he gave a heartfelt look, his eyes were always searching for a familiar face.
He was the love I couldn't suppress.
Zhou Wenyu, of course, knew nothing about his senior's complicated emotional journey. He only felt that ever since he started acting, everyone around him kept telling him how talented he was.
It was funny, since when they first tried to persuade him to join the industry, they had all said he was good-looking.
Still, he thought acting was the most fun.
He is the most mysterious superstar of our time. We knew nothing about him before, but when he came before us, everyone was irresistibly drawn to him.
Sunny, easygoing, go-with-the-flow uke Zhou Wenyu x Gentle, steady, old-school seme Chu Shaosheng
An anonymous insider from an artist agency, surname Chu, shares the scoop: Everyone around them is shipping them like crazy, but they still think they're just kindred spirits and senior and junior colleagues!
