I Transmigrated, But Had to Teach Myself Quantum Mechanics

An educational story written for my own amusement. Updates whenever inspiration strikes. Not contracted.

The story began on an afternoon beneath a cloudless sky.

Its protagonist is Edwin Schmidt, a twenty-year-old German-American in his third year in the physics department of a renowned university.

He has a dream. In it, he chases Schrödinger's cat and accidentally wanders into Alice's rabbit hole.

It sounds utterly unscientific. In any case, he meets the personification of Science.

Optics asks him for a small favor.

And that is why he travels through the worlds of the past, encountering famous figures from the history of science.

At the University of Munich, steeped in academic spirit, he witnesses the clash between the fiery young Heisenberg and Pauli;

Abel, a brilliant and exceptionally gifted mathematical genius, lives in poverty, plagued by illness and unrecognized by the mathematical community;

At forty, Maxwell devotes himself to research and writing, shutting himself away to pen the bible of electromagnetism and add the final stroke to classical physics;

At the University of Göttingen, one of the world's leading academic centers, he meets Emmy Noether, one of the twentieth century's greatest mathematicians and physicists, a woman who ascended to the highest heights of mathematics;

Faraday, born poor and self-taught, loves life and loves science;

Alan Turing, the brilliant young father of computer science, creates the concept known as the "Turing machine";

At the Copenhagen Institute for Theoretical Physics, a gathering place for brilliant minds, theoretical physicists from all over the world come together, fostering the humble, candid, passionate, and free-spirited Copenhagen spirit...
