The Happy Pastry Shop

Office drone Tong Li returned to her hometown, hoping only to lie flat like a salted fish. But then she got bound to a Chinese pastry app, and began her journey to becoming a legendary dim sum master...

APP: Ding! Your beginner quest reward has been issued. Please check out these recipes: chicken-juice pan-fried buns, honey-glazed char siu buns, soup dumplings, flaky layered buns...

Ding! Your Level One quest reward has been issued. Please check out these recipes: jade bean cakes, coconut water chestnut cakes, pigeon glass cakes, pan-fried turnip cakes...

Looking at all the tempting gray recipes waiting to be unlocked, sweet-toothed Tong Li drooled. One of the keys to a happy salted-fish life was having countless delicious pastries that wouldn't make her gain weight, while happily snacking on one juicy scoop of gossip after another.

Tong Li happily completed one quest after another, made her way through one event after another, collected recipe after recipe, and watched gossip unfold.

In the end, she saw every side of human nature and every facet of life, and gained endless happiness as she strode forward with joy.

Special notes:

1. Summer vacation is here, so the divine beasts are staying home. Updates may be a little irregular. Please understand.

2. I usually proofread the whole story after finishing it, so don't worry, dear readers: I'll fix any mistakes you spot later. I don't correct them right away because that's my writing habit. If I start editing old chapters, I can easily get carried away. It's not because I'm lazy! Thanks again for all your love
