On the night Baoyu and Baochai were to be married, Daiyu was dying.
The wedding was about to begin up front, while she was about to breathe her last in the back. Suddenly, lightning flashed and thunder roared, and an incredibly handsome black cat appeared at the head of Daiyu's bed.
The black cat could even speak: "You've repaid the tears you owed him. Now it's time to repay what you owe me. I haven't agreed to it, so you can't die."
Daiyu: What do I owe you?
Black Cat: Your life. I've stayed on the path of the yao all this time just waiting for you.
Lightning struck the wedding hall. Second Master Bao and Miss Bao never got married, while Miss Lin at the Bamboo Lodge grew healthier by the day and got herself a mighty, imposing black cat.
Zijuan: Ever since this cat arrived, Miss has been getting better. He must be a lucky charm. Everyone, make sure to feed him well and spoil him!
Unfortunately, the black cat wasn't very friendly, especially toward Second Master Bao and his mother, Madam Wang.
Black Cat: Of course! You swallowed my inner core, so you won't die. You'll live to a hundred and see that scumbag die.
Daiyu: How can I give it back to you?
Black Cat: Either I kill you and you marry me, or... No, pick one. But if you die, I'll kill every last person surnamed Jia.
[Content Warnings]
1. Apologies to the great Cao Xueqin. I know the characters are out of character, the writing is poor, and that this isn't what Cao Xueqin meant, and so on. But I'm not changing it.
2. This is all about doting on Miss Lin. I know some readers will be so overwhelmed by all the swoony moments that they'll feel sick, so there's no need to keep repeating it in the comments.
3. I take sides: I intensely dislike Madam Wang, moderately dislike Jia Baoyu, and mildly dislike Xue Baochai. The Old Madam must adore Miss Lin. Wang Xifeng isn't a good person, but she loves Miss Lin too.
Theme: Miss Lin deserves happiness. The rest can do as they please.
