Chang Miao drank too much at the bar. Her friend was fretting over how to get her home, and after scrolling through her contacts without finding anyone suitable, Chang Miao eagerly raised her hand and made a call herself.
Half an hour later, a man who looked completely out of place in the midnight bar walked in.
A snow-white shirt, black trousers, and handsome features. At first glance, though, his stern, forbidding face made him look like a parent who had come to drag a kid out of a bar.
Her friend hesitated. "Is that really him?"
Liang Yu had just returned from a business trip. The moment he got the call, he rushed over without stopping.
He was weary from the journey, and the damp chill of the rain still clung to him. Looking at the young woman he had only met a few times, he bent down and asked, "Are you drunk?"
By the time Chang Miao sobered up, she was in the underground parking garage of Liang Yu's home. She was stunned, her arms wrapped shakily around his neck. This was moving a little faster than expected!
Liang Yu seemed to realize what she was thinking, but he kept walking. "I suggest you stay at my place tonight."
Chang Miao: "Why..."
His steady, upright voice came from very close to her cheek.
"I haven't finished my work, so I can't take you home."
Chang Miao: "..."
2.
No one knew that Chang Miao and Liang Yu were married.
They were so different in every way that when the truth eventually came out, everyone around Chang Miao opposed their relationship.
That night, Liang Yu drove her home. The car was dark, and no one could see the anxiety he hid in the shadows.
He gazed silently at her, hoping for an answer. "Are you going to divorce me?"
****Next up: Zhaoyao Bones*****
Xu Qingyang got together with Bian Que purely out of spite.
Bian Xu had used her feelings as a stepping stone, so she couldn't be blamed for using that stepping stone to stomp on his head and make him call her sister-in-law!
Bian Que's background was mysterious. Rumor had it he was an illegitimate son of the wealthy Bian family in Jing City. The information was all mixed up, and Xu Qingyang couldn't be bothered to look into it. She glanced at his face, which looked seventy percent like Bian Xu's, made up her mind, and cornered him in a classroom.
"Hey, want to date?"
Xu Qingyang leaned up close to him. Beneath her palm, his lean body trembled with restraint.
At first, Xu Qingyang thought Bian Que was angry, but only later did she realize...
He was excited!
Bian Que liked her. Just being touched by her made him feel incredible.
Xu Qingyang had no idea how deeply he felt for her to have gotten to this point. She could only remark, "You really know how to put on an act."
Later, Xu Qingyang had a change of heart. It didn't seem right to let Bian Que get in so deep all by himself.
She broke up with him, then looked at his red-rimmed eyes and turned to leave, tossing out some harsh words:
"Are you addicted to being a simp? Go look in the mirror and see how pathetic you look."
-
Years later, the two met again at a banquet.
By then, Bian Que was the most powerful head of the Bian family in the capital, while the Xu family had lost its former status. Xu Qingyang wanted nothing more to do with Bian Que, but when he walked toward her from the center of the banquet hall, she couldn't refuse the exchange of a marriage alliance.
After they married, Xu Qingyang suddenly understood. This had to be a scheme against her!
Back when they were young, she had undeniably toyed with his feelings. Now that their positions had been reversed, how could she expect to get off lightly?
So the once-arrogant Miss Xu put away her sharp edges and did whatever he said. But Bian Que still never seemed satisfied.
One time, using her drunkenness as an excuse, Xu Qingyang deliberately vented her frustration. She wrapped her slender hands around his throat and demanded, "Bian Que, what exactly do you want from me!"
But those eyes she could no longer read suddenly smiled.
Bian Que tightened his hold on her hand, then bent down and trembled as he kissed her lips. "I want you to press harder."
