The Heroine Got the Crown Prince's Script Wrong

[Cross-dressing, laid-back crown prince × future rebellious, lovesick emperor]

Shangguan Jing died young and transmigrated to the Great Dong Kingdom as its crown prince, where she was bound to the True Dragon Emperor System.

The original prince basked in his ancestors' glory, never worked hard, and was arrogant, extravagant, and lecherous. He liked men. The crown prince's study companion, whom he had taken a fancy to, couldn't bear the humiliation, rebelled, and became emperor, bringing an end to the eighteen-generation Shangguan dynasty. Shangguan Jing's mission is to take the original prince's place and continue the Shangguan reign.

System: "The True Dragon Emperor System has planned the optimal path to becoming emperor for you. All you need to do is hold a selection every year, follow the plan by taking the daughters of powerful officials into the palace, and produce imperial heirs. Then you can sit back and enjoy the rewards."

Sounds pretty good. Surrounded by beauties, with all the trouble passed on to the next generation.

But...

Shangguan Jing pressed down on her chest binder. "I think there's been some kind of mistake."

System: ", "

The System is unreliable, but she still has to be crown prince.

Using the original prince's experience as a guide, Shangguan Jing decides to deal with future threats first. "Who took part in the rebellion?"

System: "The entire court rebelled."

Shangguan Jing: ", "

To catch the bandits, first catch their ringleader. The crown prince has three study companions.

Study Companion 1: The Grand Secretary's son, skilled in literature.

Study Companion 2: The general's son, skilled in martial arts.

Study Companion 3: Her maternal cousin, talented in both literature and martial arts.

Shangguan Jing: "Starting with family should be easier."

System: "The original prince thought so too, which is why he tied him to the bed."

Shangguan Jing: ", "

System: "The True Dragon Emperor System has replanned your path to the throne. If you work hard, master both letters and arms, and love the people as your own children, you can have a real man's body... Why are you lying down?"

Shangguan Jing rolled her eyes. "Try again."

In this awful feudal society, wouldn't it be better to be a refined woman?
