When Prince Yu Meng Xiwu led a campaign against the Southern Qi kingdom, his army came to an unnamed mountain. The lowlands were flooded, mist hung overhead, and poisonous vapor filled the air. The army could barely move.
Meng Xiwu was bitten by a strange-looking black snake and immediately developed a high fever that would not break. Fortunately, he remained reasonably lucid, and the soldiers scattered in search of herbs to counter the deadly venom.
A fierce wind suddenly sprang up. His trusted aide helped Prince Yu hastily take shelter in a mountain cave.
The sound of trickling water drifted through the narrow cave. Then the view opened up before them: deep in a sea of bamboo, mist billowed through the air.
A slender, snowy-white back appeared and disappeared in the white mist. A cascade of long, glossy black hair half concealed a delicate pair of shoulder blades, poised to take flight like a butterfly.
Meng Xiwu's throat bobbed violently. His eyes turned red, and his fingers, braced against the rock wall, crushed the stone to powder.
His trusted aide immediately turned his back and urged Meng Xiwu to take advantage of the woman: “A woman in these remote mountains is either a spirit or a descendant of the tribes. She knows only the passage of time in the mountains, not the years of the human world. Why not take her for your use, let her help counter the venom, then bring her back to the palace and give her a title?”
Later, Meng Xiwu finally learned that his delicate, helpless favorite concubine was the saintess of the Ten Thousand Mountains, and the youngest daughter of the Southern Qi ruler: Lu Li.
She received his affection and the rare treasures of Prince Yu's palace, yet still chose to leave without looking back.
Rain poured down in torrents. Meng Xiwu personally led the Black Armored Guard and cornered the fleeing Lu Li at Qiucang Lake, cradled in the arms of the mountains. His cold fingertips seized her chin and lifted her pale, breathtaking face.
“Are you going to run again?” His voice was colder than the rain.
The male lead has no other women, and the female lead is not a virgin.
