The desolate, geologically unstable dead planet Cybertron was like one enormous swimming pool. Drillhorn dragged the muscular rings encircling its body, surging up from the ground like a rising wave before plunging down again. Metal ruins scattered to either side like splashing water, and the ground roared and shook.

After circling Shockwave's Tower in the center of Ironhold, Drillhorn gradually slowed. He dragged most of his body out of the soil, using his metallic muscles to writhe around the final tower support. His master stood on the surface not far away, his glowing red optics gazing toward the distant sky as it slowly sank toward the horizon.

"Megatron will soon return."

The scientist's voice was low, each syllable seeming to reverberate from within his chest.

He made no effort to explain the meaning of his words to the beast beside him. Besides, the language he used was not Cybertronian. It was one of the languages spoken by the carbon-based life forms of the Solar System, with its characters strung together and words lined up, fast and indistinct.

The enormous beast Transformer tilted his head slightly.
.
"Earth will be the fertile land you are to cultivate next."

This time, the words were in Cybertronian. Once the barbaric beast understood what they meant, he quickly forgot his earlier confusion and drew in the rows of sharp teeth inside his mouth. His ugly, purposeless head tilted sideways, and he rested a small part of his body against the military commander's shoulder armor.

The daylight dimmed, and the primary star soon disappeared completely beneath the horizon.

The darkness was coming.
P.S. 1. The blurb is more serious than the actual story. This is a series about competing with the screenwriter for who gets to die.
2. This is a short story. It won't be too long, and I'll try to finish it within fifteen chapters.
3. I'll include some Transformers details that aren't in the movies but have appeared in comics or animation. They won't affect the reading experience.
4. The protagonist's intelligence is limited, and he won't turn into a human.
5. There may be mentions of Shockwave and Soundwave as a couple.
