Getting Closer to Her

[Male lead secretly loves female lead / Two top students / Complete! Thanks for all your support, mwah!] [Please add my similar novel next door, *Speaking to the Trees*, to your favorites!] Blurb: Yichuan High has two famous students. Rong Ting from Class 1 of Year Two, and Xin Wuyang from Class 9 of Year Two. One is a top science student. The other is a humanities genius. The math teachers project the science whiz’s concise, clear solutions onto their classroom screens. The humanities star’s romantic, eloquent essays are photocopied and passed around every class. They’ve both held the top spot in their respective tracks for years, and their red-background photos on the bulletin board hang side by side. He’s handsome; she’s beautiful. Yichuan High students have a little private forum. People have speculated about the two of them before, but students in their respective classes all say the same thing: they barely know each other. That is, until one day, several humanities classes erupt. Someone digs up and exposes an essay by the humanities genius. Hidden inside is a subtle confession. Excerpt: “People say our faces are the first things to age. But once, in a dream, I went to Lanting. There I saw you, forever young. There, nothing was as it seemed: the flowers and grass were and were not me. At last, I understood your secret.” The final characters spell out: “Rong Ting, you are my secret.” The essay’s ending: “May the beautiful days never end. I’m overjoyed to have met you. You are the words I keep locked inside.” The first characters spell out: “I really like you.” This is Xin Wuyang’s hidden confession to Rong Ting. PS: This is my first contemporary romance. I made everything up myself! My writing isn’t great, so please don’t be too harsh! Both are virgins, no real-life inspirations, slow-burn everyday romance, and there may be a little ensemble cast. There’s a little literary explosion, as you can see in the blurb. As I kept writing, I realized the male lead seems to get quite a lot of POV chapters too. But I’m not changing it now TuT Upcoming novel: *Break Him* (add it to your favorites if you like it!) Blurb: One day, when the weather suddenly turned cold, Song Fu ran into her ex-boyfriend, Zhou Cheng. Dressed too lightly for the weather, she crouched by the roadside waiting for a friend to pick her up. When she glanced up, she saw the man across the street. His dark eyes were cool and distant, his gaze on her inscrutable. They met again because their jobs brought them into contact. But they hadn’t ended things on good terms, so Song Fu’s first instinct when she saw Zhou Cheng was to run. Since work meant they had to interact, she said, “How about we just pretend we’re strangers?” “Strangers?” Zhou Cheng’s mouth quirked. “To everyone else, our relationship is a lot more complicated than that.” Song Fu blinked and licked her dry lips. “...Everyone else? What do they think we are?” “Dating. Engaged. Take your pick.” “...” Zhou Cheng lowered his eyelids and added as if it were nothing, “Don’t even think about denying it. Thousands of people know about us.” “???” Upcoming novel: *Cicadasong (Reborn)* The cicadas rasped, and the sunlight blazed. Lu Mian was reborn at seventeen. That was the year she transferred schools and gave up dancing. It seemed like everything bad began that year. Now that she was back, she refused to make the same mistakes again. But the first person she recognized after returning was Zhou Ze, who had confessed his feelings to her in her previous life. Lu Mian remembered the last time she had seen him in her previous life, and the last words she had said to him. “You disgust me.” But what she remembered most clearly was the red rims of his eyes. After that, they never saw each other again, not even before she died. * No one knew what was in Zhou Ze’s heart the night he confessed to Lu Mian. And no one knew how utterly heartbroken he had been that night. Theme: Study hard and keep improving.
