An Utterly Ordinary High School Girl

First update: May 22, 2023

After going on hiatus, I revised the story from February 2025 to August 2026. The revisions are done, and I’ll update the rest gradually until the schedule is stable.

Blurb:

Q: You lived as an ordinary person for fourteen years, then one day your memories awakened and you discovered you were a reincarnator. What do you think?

A: Nothing in particular. I’ll carry on as an utterly ordinary high school student, occasionally fighting time-traveling armies, enjoying delicious food, solving cases, battling yokai, and transmigrating between worlds. It’s nothing compared to my friends, who are idols, detectives, play sci-fi tennis, play fantasy basketball, build harems, and so on.

[Anime featured: Brothers Conflict, Prince of Tennis, Full Moon o Sagashite/Idol Declaration, Yumeiro Patissiere, Natsume’s Book of Friends, Kuroko's Basketball, Bungo Stray Dogs, Detective Conan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Shugo Chara!, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Bamboo Blade, AKB0048, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Idol Princess, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior, K, Aikatsu!]

[Reading Guide]

1. The story moves very slowly. The main plot covers three years of high school, and there are lots of series in this crossover. Sakura’s world is fascinating, so it’ll take time to write. I’ll probably only write one crossover, so even series that don’t affect the plot may appear.

2. The basic setting is that spiritual power is the source of all things, and all other abilities are weaker than it. Sakura is therefore ridiculously overpowered, so expect scenes where Sakura makes a move and Sakura wins instantly, though she does grow over time.

3. This is a wish-fulfillment story written entirely in first person, with complete immersion. I fully put myself into it, so there’s a lot of snark. It’s mostly an everyday-life story with a snarky tone. The narrator’s state of mind is sometimes unhinged, but usually normal.

4. The characters may be very out of character.

5. The pairing with Atobe is set, but he doesn’t appear all that often, so you can read it as having no romantic pairing.

6. Series listed under supporting characters may not appear in the main plot. Some might only be background.

7. In a way, this is a self-insert fantasy. Sakura won’t deliberately steal the spotlight from the protagonists, but every scene I write is something I wish I could transmigrate into and experience.

8. My stories are largely written to please myself. This is a wish-fulfillment series where I write the world I imagine.

Feel free to criticize what you don’t like, but I may not listen. I’ll delete unpleasant comments.

There are plenty of great stories on Jinjiang. If this one isn’t to your taste, move on. Don’t get hung up on me.
