I wanted to portray a typical Gryffindor who was reckless, arrogant and ignorant. Only in rare special circumstances will the protagonist be sensible and self-aware. She is sometimes cute, sometimes hateful, sometimes respectable, sometimes hateful; she is a brave Gryffindor.
She used her wisdom to rescue Sirius Black and successfully became Harry Potter's godmother; she misunderstood and hated Severus Snape because of her stupidity, and she and Sirius couldn't help but blame themselves when all the truth was revealed.
