My Archenemy Is the Man I Was Promised to at Birth

What does it feel like to be engaged to your sworn enemy?

Ye Mengli says: Every day, I’m thinking about how to kill him!!!

What does it feel like to be engaged to the second young lady of the Ye household?

Jiang Luochuan says: It’s so satisfying to see her get frustrated over our engagement!!

A little scene:

Ye Mengli had planned to bring him somewhere secluded and finish him off. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect that the person who was supposed to fall into the water would be standing safely on the shore, while she herself ended up in the lotus pond.

Watching the person splashing about in the water, Jiang Luochuan stood on the bank and held back a grin. “Well, that was careless of you. Do you need your husband to pull you out?”

Ye Mengli snarled from the water, “I’d rather drown than ask you for help!!”

Jiang Luochuan said mournfully, “I was going to call for someone, but since you put it that way, I’ll be on my way.”

“Wait!!” Seeing the high wall and knowing she couldn’t climb out, Ye Mengli called to Jiang Luochuan, who was about to leave.

Looking at the hand he held out, Jiang Luochuan pretended not to understand. “This...”

Ye Mengli: “Stop pretending! Hurry up and pull me out!”

“Surely you could at least call me ‘husband’...” Jiang Luochuan pretended to hesitate, but in his heart he was waiting to see her look like she had something to say but couldn’t bring herself to say it.

Ye Mengli: “You...”

Jiang Luochuan: “Then I’m leaving.”

“Hus-hus-husband!!”
