Zhu Qing was the protagonist of World Salvation, a Gen79 world where the rescued protagonist led the world to rise. After outsiders disrupted the plot, she died by suicide.
She died on a rainy night, leaping from the 38th floor of the game studio she had once worked so hard to build with her friends, now empty of everyone.
Zhu Qing came back to life, waking on a battlefield swept by war and thick with smoke.
She had no wish to live. On the spot, she grabbed a bundle of explosives and charged toward a tank in a suicidal attack. But before she could even get out of the trench, a battered soldier suddenly darted out beside her and saved her, then gave her a thorough scolding.
Weeping uncontrollably, she angrily prepared to yell back at the soldier who had saved her, but everything around her abruptly turned into drifting smoke and shattered fragments, then vanished.
She found herself in a world that was like a mirror, and like a river.
The surface of each pool of water reflected scenes from history, some ordinary, some legendary, as if they were images on an old film reel slowly turning and playing.
She watched, entranced, when an old, weary voice suddenly sounded beside her.
“What will the future be like?” the voice asked softly.
Zhu Qing suddenly lost control of her body, and tears streamed down her face.
Unable to stop herself, she hurriedly replied, “May every child receive an education, may every elder have someone to rely on, may we live in an age of peace, with no one daring to commit wrongdoing!”
When she regained control of her body, a tender, achingly familiar voice suddenly rang out beside her.
It was the System voice from the ancient mythology card-drawing game made by the studio she had jumped from.
It said, “Come, let us swim upstream together! Back to the past!”
