A short story, updated whenever inspiration strikes
A younger STEM student x an older, wealthy rose
[One]
Aisha Pu is often called a "freak" by her conservative, incompetent father. She doesn't care: by the standards of the "good women" those men on the street talk about, she would have been denied the chance to go to school long ago.
With a face pretty enough to be called beautiful, her family would have married her off early.
Aisha Pu got to attend university entirely through cunning and sheer stubbornness.
After her violent father threatened to stop giving her a single cent because she refused the marriage, and her weak-willed mother still didn't say a word in her defense, Aisha Pu looked at them coldly, with not a trace of hesitation left.
"If you're going to sell me off, then sell me off. Don't dress it up with pretty words."
[Two]
It's not that Aisha Pu never tried to work hard. She secretly ran away to attend university and spent almost all her time at two part-time jobs, wishing she could split herself in three.
But when she was so exhausted that low blood sugar made her faint in her dim, cramped rental room, the pride she'd been forcing herself to hold onto was nearly crushed by the weight of reality.
Fortunately, the tip from that beautiful Eastern woman helped with the rent at a desperate moment. Aisha Pu still had somewhere to live while she figured out how to sell the one thing she had: her face.

After leaving her hometown under the pretense of something else, Bai Qingyi spotted the girl who had once helped her out, behind the bar at one of Milan's busiest bars at dusk. The girl couldn't mix drinks, but she still stood beside the bartender washing glasses.
The reason was simple: she was so beautiful she looked like a walking billboard.
Though she clearly didn't smoke, she awkwardly held out a cigarette and asked Bai Qingyi for a light:
"Miss, could I borrow a light?"
"Nostalgia is a man's Odyssey; escape is a woman's epic."
