This is a story of redemption among gods, ghosts, and humans. After a calamity, a god splits into three and becomes a god, a demigod, and a human. The god is dressed in finery and possesses boundless magic. The demigod is serene and composed, with a sword hidden in his heart. He never draws it against mortals, and he stays by the side of the human, whose magical powers are weak, protecting him for generations alongside the child he met in the mortal world while he was still a god. The human is noble in character, devoted to his country and its people, and steadfastly protects the empire he loves. The god is neither as gentle and peaceful as the demigod nor as devoted to the greater good as the human, following his heart in all things. In life, the ghost was born to wealth and privilege, but a doomed romance destroyed her life. Driven by obsession, she is reborn, wanting to see how the dynasty that brought about her country's ruin will crumble. The human is highborn, but as he battles the ghost, he gradually loses his true nature and becomes neither human nor ghost. Yet the god, the ghost, and the human all have someone they love and something they cannot let go of. In the end, amid the changing tides of the world, they each find where they belong.
