*This is an embarrassing old work. The ideas and writing are very immature. Don't read it.
*The comments section was closed because the stupid author wasn't satisfied with this story at the time. There's no drama.
*Blurb:
Shi Er is widely regarded by the nine-tailed fox clan of Guiqi Mountain as the most alluring little fox to appear in centuries. At a single glimpse, the other foxes feel as though her beauty, touched with a faint chill, has swept their very souls clean.
Among the nine-tailed foxes, greater beauty means greater cultivation talent. Shi Er lives up to everyone's expectations, cultivating the power of seven tails in just three hundred years.
Her twin brother, Shi Heng, is quite proud of her, yet repeatedly grits his teeth and extends his cultivation sessions. Each time, he slows his breathing and says, "I'm your older brother. My cultivation must never fall below yours."
Shi Er, who has been cherished all her life, has a secret that only Shi Heng knows.
Though talented, she was born missing a thread of her soul, and has been unable to live without the soul power produced by ghostly beings ever since she was little.
While Shi Heng is in secluded cultivation, Shi Er packs her things and leaves Guiqi Mountain. Following the dense ghostly aura, she enters a desolate little city swept by wind and dust. On a dark, windy night, she follows the winding alleys toward a haunted house.
In a light rain on the city streets, a plain-colored flower umbrella suddenly opens above her head. Shi Er turns and sees a face so beautiful it is impossible to tell whether it belongs to a man or a woman. The corners of her lips lift slightly. When she lowers her gaze again, she finds herself dressed in a bright red wedding gown.
The courtyard is deep, and the guests all seem to have blurred faces. Amid the bustling noise lurks a strange, lifeless air.
Shi Er steps out of the bridal chamber and casually looks up. Among the guests, one person rests a hand on the table, gently swirling a porcelain-white wine cup. Their smile is gentle, like a spring breeze brushing the willows in March.
When they see her looking, they give a slight nod and raise their cup to her.
Later, Rong Li, peerlessly gentle in public, pins her between the bed curtains. At the height of passion, he suddenly speaks in a hoarse voice: "Er, let's get married."
Shi Er is too dazed to give him the answer he wants for a long while. Then she hears his low, reproachful voice: "Back then, you wore a wedding gown for someone else and became someone else's bride."
