[Hardworking Rookie of the Mystical Arts X All-Rounder Zombie (?) Big Shot]
A thousand years later, spiritual energy has dwindled and the schools of cultivation have fallen into decline.
Li Ya, a descendant of the mystical arts, struggles to make a living in a dazzling modern city. By chance, a talent scout discovers her, and she gets lucky enough to become the body double for the female lead of a certain Mary Sue drama...
The female lead can't swim, so Li Ya jumps into the river and stays underwater for half an hour. The female lead thinks the ground is dirty, so Li Ya puts on her costume and rolls around in the mud. The female lead is afraid of heights, so Li Ya ties on a rope and jumps from the city wall without a word. The female lead has fallen for the male lead while filming and refuses to shoot a kissing scene with the male supporting actor, who's ranked fourth in the cast and barely famous...
Li Ya: Uh... That wasn't in the contract!
Li Ya has a secret: she can see a person's fortune for the next three years.
She sees that the pretty young female lead is doomed to romantic trouble, and will eventually be abandoned by a scumbag and leave the entertainment industry in dejection.
She sees that the male lead, who debuted through a talent show, is afflicted by the Hurting Officer star. He'll be famous for less than half a year before a scandal brings him crashing down.
She sees that a background actor crouching and chewing on a dry bun has a shining Wealth star. Three months later, he wins the lottery and gets rich overnight...
But she can't see anything about the fourth-billed male supporting actor, who's practically invisible on set despite being more handsome and a better actor than the male lead.
What's more, she catches a strange fragrance coming from him...
**
Nineteen years ago, when Li Ya was in second grade, tomb raiders kidnapped her. She was later saved by a thousand-year-old zongzi.
The little girl was so grateful that she foolishly declared she'd repay him by marrying Brother Zongzi and lying in a coffin with him.
She doesn't remember what he looked like, but that strange fragrance has lingered in her mind ever since, and it's exactly like the scent coming from the man in front of her!
Li Ya timidly raises her hand: Um... Is it too late for me to run away?
Theme: Love is a promise and protection that never changes, even after a thousand years
