I Really Am a White Fox, Meow

*A sweet little treat

Bai Miao is a little spirit on Spirit Mountain. She’s the only creature on the mountain with white fur, so everyone says she’s a little white fox. Bai Miao thinks so too.

By a stroke of luck, Bai Miao learns to take human form. But on the very day she does, a lightning tribulation strikes her and sends her to another world.

Looking at the flowers, trees, pavilions, and towers around her, Bai Miao thinks she’s arrived in Heaven.

It’s only when a grand procession approaches and the handsome man at its head looks at her and says, “Where did this beauty come from?” that she realizes otherwise.

Forced to remain in this other world, Bai Miao discovers that the storybooks that keep appearing by her bedside can predict the future.

The entertainment industry on Spirit Mountain is just as well-developed, and Bai Miao immediately understands: just like in the stories, she must have been sent to the mortal world to undergo a trial. Could she return home and become an immortal only by following the storybook’s plot?

So Bai Miao gets close to the man and plays out a new script every day.

Today she’s a bewitching consort who brings ruin to the kingdom. Tomorrow she’s a delicate, pitiful damsel. The day after, she’s a dowager empress wielding power over the court.

The real empress dowager’s face turns livid. Bai Miao is scooped up and carried off, her life as a spirit saved.

Bai Miao speaks the truth in the script: “I really am a white fox~”

The man smiles without a word, but dotes on her more and more.

That night, the man looks at Bai Miao, who has accidentally turned back into her original form, and thinks helplessly: I’ve picked up a silly little cat.
