[Calculating, Cool-Headed Princess x Paranoid, Obsessive Powerful Official]

[One-on-One Push and Pull, Two Scheming Black Lotuses, The Untouchable One Falls from His Pedestal]

All she ever wanted was wealth and glory.

Princess Jiang Muwei, the eldest princess of Nanqi, was gentle and beautiful, but she had always been driven by self-interest, forever looking to climb higher.

Then one day, she unexpectedly managed to seduce the highly respected, unhinged Imperial Preceptor.

A madman, a demon, whatever he was.

She was determined to strip away his saintly, flawless facade and make him worship at her feet. She would make him serve her, remember her constantly, and yearn for her day and night...

At first, he looked down on her gentle manner. He was ambitious and insatiable, thinking only of grasping power and influence and laying a web of schemes throughout the court.

And she was nothing more than an insignificant pawn.

What waves could a mere fallen princess possibly make?

But later, Yan Yu went mad thinking about her peerless beauty.

Her graceful, jade-like face, her clear eyes that seemed to flow with light, every frown and smile that could ensnare the soul: she was utterly bewitching...

Yan Yu: "What exactly is the princess after...?"

Jiang Muwei: "I'm just waiting for Lord Yan to take the bait."

He had somehow fallen into this woman's trap.

His soul was captivated, his heart in turmoil, and in the end he willingly surrendered and lost everything.

Jiang Muwei: "How much of what you say is true, my lord, and how much is false?"

Yan Yu: "If the princess believes it, then it is true."

Jiang Muwei: "Then I want all the wealth and glory in the world."

Yan Yu: "Very well. From now on, no one in the world will dare disrespect you."

Later, Jiang Muwei heard all sorts of rumors circulating among the people.

"Who is that young lady, anyway?"

"I have no idea, but they say Lord Yan is deeply in love with her and will marry no one else..."

"But she still hasn't agreed to his proposal. He had to rack his brains to win her hand..."

"The whole city is abuzz with the story. Lord Yan, so esteemed at court, is henpecked at home. That young lady has the final say over everything, and he's terrified she'll run away."

Looking at the imperial decree for their marriage and the man standing before her, humbly lowering himself, she smiled to herself.

All the schemes and grievances she had suffered, she would make him pay back one by one...

Reading Guide:

1. Content warnings: The heroine is a scheming black lotus. The story opens with her betrothal, but it is later called off. She and the hero are in a one-on-one relationship from beginning to end, and both leads are each other's first. This is not a story about a powerful heroine. It is not! Neither lead comes from a good background, and neither has a golden finger. The heroine is outmaneuvered by the hero early on, but later he is the one who suffers. The leads are equals, with neither stronger than the other. This is a story of mutual salvation.

2. Character setup: Cool-headed, scheming princess x paranoid, beautiful but tragic powerful official.

3. Happy ending, both leads are each other's first, powerful equals locked in an intense push and pull. They initially pursue their own interests, then fall for each other without realizing it.

Theme: Love is armor, not a burden.
