[Reborn!] This Is Just a Road Trip Story

This is a brainchild spin-off of my other completed Reborn! fic, We Got Together After Sleeping with the Rain Guardian. You don’t need to have read that one to understand this story. →, → You are Summer.Bird, a researcher for the Greco family, though your field of expertise is completely unrelated to their business. You’ve always wanted to escape the family’s control. Taking out a few family heads along the way would be even better. When you’re sent to the United States to attend an academic conference, a sudden attack breaks out. A hitman has just killed your immediate superior, but he’s wounded and surrounded by the police. You think your chance has finally come. You crawl out from under a laboratory table and beam excitedly at the hitman, who has a scar on his chin. “Hey~” You point at yourself. “There’s a perfectly good hostage right here. Want me?” The hitman, who had been worrying about what to do, considers it for a few seconds, then nods and smiles brightly. “Good idea.” Then he knocks you unconscious with the back of his knife ↓↓↓ ↓↓↓ → This is a spin-off based on the idea behind the other Rain Guardian story. It takes place in a parallel world, with a setting that differs considerably from the original. Detailed content warnings and background information will be in Chapter One, so remember to read it. → This is a real mafia hitman × an 80-year-old chuunibyou, rebellious, stubborn female lead. Yamamoto Takeshi is 21, and Summer is 17/18. She’s still the same quick-witted, hilariously offbeat girl, but since she grew up differently, her personality is a little different from the one in the main Rain Guardian story. → I just want to write a road story about the two of them escaping together. I’ve never written one before, though, so if this doesn’t feel like a road story, that’s on me. (Maybe it’ll turn into another sweet little romance?) → A short story born from a flight of fancy, told mainly in the second person, with some third-person sections. It makes no sense, so don’t get hung up on the details. There’s so little Yamamoto content that I had to write my own. Theme: Hehe
