[My new novel, Stockpiling and Surviving in a Seaside Safe House, is now out! Check out my author page for more disaster-survival stories, and please add them to your reading list~] When He Ning woke up, she found herself lying on a deserted island. Frost formed in the biting cold. She was shivering in her pajamas, and two frog monsters were hopping toward her menacingly. Luckily, the game came with a beginner’s gift pack: [Received: Potatoes x3] [Received: Bottled Water x1] [Received: Wood x10] [Talent activated: Treasure Chest Lucky Find] [Treasure Chest Lucky Find: Whenever you obtain a treasure chest, you have a chance to get 3 additional treasure chests of random quality] * Disasters swept across the world. Players wailed as more and more were eliminated. But the world announcements kept popping up: [Player He Ning obtained 3 Gold Treasure Chests] [Player He Ning killed a Level 7 monster with ease] [Player He Ning unlocked the achievement “Way Ahead”] He Ning, who had somehow become the world’s number one, scratched her head. “That’s odd. Didn’t the System say I was the weakest E-rank player?” Other players: ...? #I’m an E-rank player, but it’s normal for me to be number one in the world, right?# --[Blurb 2]-- She unexpectedly got a dazzling treasure chest. Inside was a clump of rainbow-colored mud. He Ning didn’t really understand what it was, but she decisively took the mud... and used it to grow crops. Watching little seedlings push through the soil and grow strong, she thought to herself, I really am a genius! The next moment, a vine wrapped around her ankle. A pale little face appeared as it said, “I’m so cold. I want my master to hug me.” The little seedlings wailed, “I’m so thirsty. I want to live in a hot spring room~” The vegetables pleaded pitifully, “I’m so hungry. Please fertilize us~” The scariest part was that the ripe fruits and vegetables she’d just harvested were all plump and round, clamoring to be first: “Come play with me!” “Hold me, hold me! I smell the best!” “I love you, Master! Give me a hug!” He Ning: ... He Ning: Help! What is this, some kind of Big Mom scenario?! Note: The Big Mom reference comes from the Soul-Soul Fruit in One Piece, which can put “souls” into anything and make it sing and talk. -- Please add my upcoming novel, Game Invasion: The Ads I Watch Come True, to your reading list ---Blurb--- After the game invaded, Fu Yuzhen didn’t awaken a divine-granted talent, but she did get a strange skill: every ad she saw or heard came true! In the early days of the game, order collapsed. Her cousin, one of the first to awaken a talent, snatched all her gold and casually said, “I’ll repay you a thousandfold!” He thought he’d get ahead by minting countless gold coins and rise to the top of the world. But the coins he got disappeared one by one before he could even enjoy them, and his account was suddenly saddled with a massive debt. Meanwhile, Fu Yuzhen, with no idea what was going on, stared at the gold coins raining down before her in shock. Money is falling from the sky?! - A global famine struck, and refugees were reduced to eating dirt and tree bark. She opened a video, and a livestream seller was energetically pitching their products: “Not 199! Not even 99! Just 0.01 gold coins, and you can take all of this home!” She placed an order, just to see what would happen, and dozens of boxes of goods appeared out of nowhere. Fu Yuzhen was deeply moved. Rich people are so generous! I’ll order ten thousand more! - Divine-granted resources appeared, conflicts broke out across every region, and fragile Fu Yuzhen opened a video and saw an ad for the hottest armor around: “Fireproof and waterproof, stops bullets cold! Wear it and a mountain of swords or a sea of fire will feel like a vacation!” She bought it, half-believing the claims. The next day, she wandered into the middle of a chaotic battle. Bullets bounced away, swords snapped on impact, and she was completely unharmed! Fu Yuzhen gave a thumbs-up. They really don’t cheat the customers! - After the game invaded, humanity on the Xuanhuang Star gained a chance to survive with the help of divine-granted talents. The most outstanding among them rode the wave of the times, quickly made fortunes, and climbed to the top of the new world’s power rankings. But before long, people began to realize something was off. At a special food factory producing food that could resist corruption, the manager flew into a rage. “We lost 20 billion? The whole sales department can get out!” The head of a financial conglomerate that controlled the global metal supply stared at the trillions of dollars that had vanished into thin air, completely baffled. A famous alchemy talent user meant to add just one drop of divine-granted potion to a new product, but accidentally poured in the whole bottle. And Fu Yuzhen’s cousin watched the divine-granted gold coins vanish from his account as soon as they arrived. His vision went dark, and he passed out completely... - Meanwhile, Fu Yuzhen knew nothing about any of this. She ate delicious corruption-resistant food, wore high-level divine-granted equipment from head to toe, and had more than 99,999 of every rare resource stashed in her backpack. She sighed with satisfaction. “Those financial talents are so generous. People from Xuanhuang really don’t cheat their own!” Theme: Keep your heart facing the light. The darkness will always pass
