The Beautiful Insect Queen Is the World's Treasure

[Top: Bottom] The alternate-universe storyline can be enjoyed on its own * Q: You transmigrate into a newly born, one-of-a-kind insect mother, only to open your eyes and find yourself in a deadly predicament. What do you do? A: Naturally, make every single bug willingly submit to you. Gu Qi, a beta cadet at a military academy, woke up to find himself curled inside a damp, dead egg. His arrival brought the dead egg back to life. At that moment, a telepathic link connecting the entire insect race told Gu Qi: You’re done for! [An insect mother?] [A newly born insect mother? Kill him.] [Kill him!] [We don’t need an insect mother!] [Kill him!] This was a rebellious race of insects. Centuries ago, their previous insect mother had betrayed them, and their hatred had carried over to the new one. In that moment, advanced insects scattered across the stars followed the telepathic link to seek out the frail little insect mother who had just been born. They intended to snuff him out before he could grow up. As for Gu Qi… Gu Qi: “Thanks for asking. I’m still in the egg and haven’t even crawled out yet. Kill me or torture me, do whatever you like.” * After hatching on a desolate planet, Gu Qi had no interest in struggling. He’d trained himself half to death in his previous life, and all he wanted now was to lie flat. But the planet was a total dump, so he had no choice but to scrape by. There’s a cave? That’ll be home. There are branches? I’ll use them for firewood. There’s bread? That’ll be dinner. There are clothes? I’ll put them on! After settling on the barren planet and roping in low-ranking insects as laborers to live a “farming” life, Gu Qi discovered that more and more things here could be put to use. He was busy scoffing at the wastefulness of the people across the stars, completely unaware that several powerful insects had been secretly providing for him for quite some time. * The advanced insects hated the insect mother who had once sold them out to humanity. So when the new insect mother was born, the telepathic link they shared through their psychic powers brought them to a unanimous decision: [Get rid of the insect mother.] With that in mind, the advanced insects set out to find the little insect mother. But one day, in the midst of their cold, hard psychic connection, a bright, bewildered voice suddenly broke through: [Oh no! Why are there no clothes…] [Ah, it’s so dark here…] [I’m starving. Could there possibly be food around here…] The powerful insects watched in silence. They’d agreed to kill the insect mother once they found him, but instead they all hid in the shadows, secretly helping him out. Some even blocked the little insect mother’s attempts to leave the planet. Then the desolate planet began its countdown to destruction, and the insects panicked. They searched desperately beneath a sky of blazing flames, but couldn’t find the little insect mother with the bright voice anywhere. * Aboard a starship bound for a distant destination, Gu Qi had no idea that, elsewhere, a group of advanced insects was about to go mad over him. ★This is an imaginary setting, unrelated to reality. He was covered in honors, hailed as a genius by the entire empire. Five years later, Lannuo was an imperial criminal who had offended a candidate for insect mother. Handed over to the insects by humanity, he was sent to the place of exile to be executed, with his death broadcast live. ※ Lannuo Xishe, a brilliant researcher of psychic powers, earned countless honors between the ages of fifteen and twenty. He was hailed as “the Star of the Human Empire” and “the One Praised by the Insect God.” Then, in a single night, he became a prisoner. The insect prince who had been his classmate for five years looked at him with disappointment. “I never thought you’d be this kind of person. How could you offend His Highness, the esteemed candidate?” The insect knight who had sworn to protect him for life was cold and aloof. “I won’t serve a scumbag who wants to hurt a candidate for insect mother.” The insect duke who had once said he would ask for Lannuo’s hand in marriage from the empire said, “I’m sorry. I’m going to become a candidate to be the future insect mother’s fiancé.” ※ The place of exile was known to modern insects as the most brutal, primitive planet. Ancient insect species who had gone thousands of years without psychic soothing lived there. Every criminal sent to the place of exile ended up as a corpse beneath these tyrants’ feet. Without exception. As the exile broadcast went live, viewers eagerly waited to watch the imperial criminal wail and beg for mercy. On a barren mountainside, a young man lay curled beneath the enormous bones of a beast. A shadow drew closer above him, its breathing heavy. Viewers: [Charge! Tear him apart!] The ancient insect species picked up the young man and carried him back to its cave. Viewers: [I get it! He’s saving him for later!] The ancient insects fought over who could get closer to the young man, pulling at one another’s hair in a jealous frenzy. Viewers: [They’re definitely fighting over who gets to eat him first!] The ancient insects’ psychic powers went berserk, plunging the place of exile into chaos. The strongest insect dragged the only human deep into its nest. Just before the broadcast cut off, the viewers were thrilled: [It’s finally going to eat him!] The viewers waiting for the imperial criminal’s death waited and waited. Three days later, the black screen lit up. A towering ancient insect emerged from its nest carrying the exhausted, beautiful young man. Psychic power radiated from him, sweeping across the universe and instantly capturing the minds of every insect. Viewers: [How did the imperial criminal become the insect mother!?] ※ After a thousand years without their faith, the modern insects finally welcomed the return of the insect mother. The handsome prince, the mighty insect knight, the fabulously wealthy duke, even the humans of the empire who had once rejected him… They bowed before the newly crowned insect mother, begging him for forgiveness. Lannuo: “Thanks for asking, but I’m not interested.” The newly born insect mother rejected the modern insects’ submission and chose the ancient insects, who stood silently behind him like statues. ※ Trumpets sounded in praise of their glory, and Casablanca’s flags flew across the universe. The ancient insects reunited with their long-lost kin. Returning with forgotten technology, they helped their one and only insect mother ascend the throne. They would offer their noble Highness their eternal love. Theme: Even in adversity, turn toward the light
