A Night in Florence

Song Jiayin first meets Frank at a lavish banquet attended by old-money families.

She accompanies her father and is poised, beautiful, and gracious, the Hong Kong City socialite praised by one distinguished elder after another.

The second time they meet is on his private island.

In front of a floor-to-ceiling window with a sweeping view, the reflection reveals two intimate figures with a striking difference in height and build. Finger marks crisscross the girl's fair skin, and her slightly reddened eyes glisten with tears that invite pity.

The nights in Firenze are decadent and intoxicating. From dawn to dusk, then from the blue hour until the early hours of the morning, it is like being lost in a dark blue fog.

After seventeen days of reckless indulgence, she disappears without a trace.

"You roused me from my stupor, and now repay my innocence." From Xu Zhimo's "One Night in Firenze"

Note: Firenze, or Florence, is a city in central Italy.
