Xun Yi, whose parents were framed for killing the widely respected Regional Chief, is hunted by his younger brother.
While fleeing, she stumbles into an unknown instance and obtains a Plant XX System.
Xun Yi leaps for joy on the spot. What is most scarce in the apocalypse? Whether on Earth or in other advanced civilizations, it's food!
After narrowly surviving and completing missions to earn points, she exchanges them for a bright, dewy-looking radish.
She bites into it full of anticipation and hears a loud crunch, as if a wire in her brain has snapped.
"Good grief, this is a block of iron!"
"It's not! I'm the famous Plant Mecha System!" The voice in her mind sounds indignant.
Xun Yi is speechless. She pinches the bitten radish and narrows her eyes. "Can a mecha the size of my thumb even be called a mecha?"
And besides, if it's a mecha, why disguise it as food? Is tricking her supposed to be fun?
Later, Xun Yi discovers that using these things to fool people really is fun.
Not only that, she even lures over the highest-level civilization, the rare species of the Asas race who can devour the sun and moon and the cores of planets, to work as her muscle.
And so the frail Xun Yi, whose total stats barely add up to a hundred, unknowingly becomes Earth's savior.
In 2080, Earth is swept into the Great Civilizational Ordeal. Vast tracts of land are contaminated, the situation keeps worsening, food is scarce, and people are attacked by mutated creatures. Human society falls into chaos, and the apocalypse arrives in full.
The only solution is to enter the dangerous instances that appeared around the world when the apocalypse began and earn points, then use a nation's place on the Civilization Rankings to win purification resources and guidance for civilizational advancement.
However, advanced civilizations all take part in the chaotic struggle for control of the instance battlefields. Countless overwhelming powers are unleashed before everyone, and even Earth's strongest fighters fail to break into the top ten thousand.
Countless people begin to write Earth off. Some even use the instances to contact other civilizations, hoping to immigrate to another planet through a contract.
Others, in the depths of despair, kindle a blazing fire and lead everyone toward growth.
But time is short. When the Civilizational Ordeal ends, Earth will face true annihilation, and humanity will be destroyed.
Those who leave congratulate themselves on their decision and mock those who stay behind on Earth to await their deaths.
Just then, an anonymous contender carrying Earth's civilization suddenly shoots up the rankings, bringing a glimmer of hope to the despairing masses.
No one can find this dark horse, until someone uses the speed at which they earn points to make deductions across the various civilizations.
Every clue and deduction points to one person.
The public enemy who despicably dangles food in front of countless big shots to get them to help, then turns around and robs them of their points; who uses her companions to play dumb and catch her attackers off guard, while mocking the big shots as trash.
What do you do when the public enemy you've cursed to hell turns out to be the savior?
The answer: "Atone with your life!"
Theme: Saving others is saving yourself.
