After the Immortal Venerable Awakens

He Xiyan of Changming Sect was born noble, with a sword bone and a cold, unfeeling heart, like a frigid moon high in the heavens. Yet he alone could not see past the word love, and ultimately had his immortal bones stripped away and fell into a life of degradation.

He Xiyan had been cast down from his place as the bright moon of the immortal sect and trampled into the mud. All the friends who had been close to him, all the cultivators and mortals he had once helped, who had thanked him again and again for his kindness, now kicked him while he was down.

Only Bai Feiyu, the pitiful young man He Xiyan had repeatedly targeted, risked his life to save him. But He Xiyan was too badly injured, and Bai Feiyu could only watch helplessly as he died, his soul scattered and extinguished.

After He Xiyan died, he watched the pitiful young man weep blood as he jumped into the deadly Demon Refining Pool, unwilling to surrender his body. He sacrificed his life to curse everyone.

Then everyone who had kicked He Xiyan while he was down discovered in terror that he had never lost his immortal bones or his cultivation.

Or his sword.

Bottom's perspective:

Bai Feiyu was the true young master, brought back by the He family from a brothel district. His broken body and useless constitution made him an object of contempt in both the Bai household and the sect. He was the exact opposite of the fake young master, He Xiyan, who had been born with a sword bone, a cold and unfeeling heart, and unfathomable cultivation.

He Xiyan was a bright, frigid moon in the heavens, while Bai Feiyu was filth in a stinking ditch. Bai Feiyu was insecure to the bone, not only because of his broken past, but also because of the deeply buried, most shameful obsession in his heart.

He saw He Xiyan as the only light in his life.

Then one day, that light was extinguished.
