She saw that he'd added a line to the first page: "The day I fell for you, 2010/8/27." She asked, "What's this?"

Sheng Yici put an arm around her, smiling warmly as he said, "The day I fell for you."

Wen Tian stared at him in disbelief. "So you were the one who fell for me first? Why did you act so aloof back then?"

Sheng Yici answered with a straight face, "It's called playing hard to get. It's a strategy."

For ten long years, every wish I made was about you.

This wasn't unrequited love. We were always finding our way to each other.

Wen Xiunian narrowed his eyes. His low voice rang out alongside the thunder. "If you want me to help you, agree to one thing."

He proposed a marriage based on nothing but a deal.

Everyone knew that the head of the Wen family was a powerful man in a high position, ruthless and cold by nature.

He even declared that someone as proud as him would never love, much less bow his head for anyone.

And Tong Li had climbed her way into the company of the powerful. She wasn't good enough for him, and their marriage would never be happy.

Until one day, at an event, someone saw it with their own eyes.

In a dim corridor, the usually aloof and distinguished Mr. Wen had an arm around the girl's slender waist, pinning her against the wall as he kissed her senseless.

Bonus scene

The day they argued, Wen Xiunian lay on the bed and wrapped an arm around her waist, his voice weak. "Tongtong, I'm sick. I've got a fever."

The man clung to her like a pitiful little puppy, holding her even tighter. He took out a thermometer and coughed a few times. "I feel awful. Don't go. Stay with me, okay?"

Tong Li couldn't bring herself to push him away. She sat back down on the edge of the bed and gently soothed him. "All right, all right. I'm not leaving. I'll stay with you."

Assistant He, who really did have a fever, watched helplessly as his boss took his thermometer to put on an act.

It seemed this household couldn't get by without him.

I'll gladly lose myself, and let you make me lose control.
