The summer after graduating from high school, Li Ning went to her best friend's coming-of-age party.
Everyone was having so much fun in the pool that they'd lost track of everything else. Only Li Ning couldn't bear to put down the kitten raised by the cleaning lady, so she sat in a corner, holding and gently petting it.
