Shen Nian comes from a poor family and is dirt poor. While other people enjoy college life, she goes to class, works, goes to class, and works.
After working so hard to earn a little money, she hasn't even had a chance to spend it before she's hit by a car while saving someone. When she wakes up, she finds the world turned upside down: she's transmigrated to the interstellar era.
Here, the stars shine bright, and mechs, high magic, and ancient martial arts are all thriving. But none of that has anything to do with Shen Nian, because in this new life she's a destitute high school freshman on a remote frontier planet.
Since she's here, she may as well make the best of it. Shen Nian plans to keep studying and working to support herself. But the interstellar college entrance exam no longer tests academic knowledge. Instead, it tests people's physical strength and mental power.
Though Shen Nian is full of knowledge, her physical strength and mental power are both terrible, and she's poor. She can't afford the resources needed to improve them, so she has no way to get onto the interstellar college entrance exam track, her only path to a better life.
Just as Shen Nian is falling into despair, a strange voice rings in her ear.
"The Life Simulator System is at your service. Bind to the Life Simulator, and we'll take you to the pinnacle of life!"
Shen Nian: "?"
Isn't this the mobile game her boss recommended at the place where she worked during the summer after her college entrance exams? The game she quit after playing for just one day?
Why did she quit? Shen Nian has a good memory, and she remembers immediately: the game required in-app purchases to progress, and she had no money.
"Would you like to bind to the Life Simulator, Host?" The System begins enthusiastically listing all the Life Simulator's benefits.
"The shop stocks Strength-Enhancing Pills, Mental Energy Boosting Potions, Ancient Martial Arts Manuals, Mech Design Blueprints..."
With not a penny to her name, Shen Nian gives a cold look. "This simulator doesn't cost money, right?"
System: "There's no charge! The Life Simulator's goal is to take you to the pinnacle of life. Our universal currency is points. As long as you work hard and grow strong enough, you can earn lots of points by completing missions. You can use points to buy anything in the shop!"
System: "Here are some personal achievements. Every achievement you complete will earn you millions, even tens of millions, of points!"
■ High-Paid Professional: Earn an annual salary of 5 million Star Coins
■ Famous Far and Wide: Make your name known across the planets
■ Mech Expert: Pilot a mech and become unbeatable across the stars
■ Planet Tycoon: Own five registered planets in your name
After listening to the System's flashy sales pitch, Shen Nian looks at her empty wallet and figures there's nothing to lose, so she binds to the Life Simulator right away.
System: "You have successfully bound to the Life Simulator."
"This simulator doesn't charge any interstellar currency. We detected that you currently have 0 points, so we have automatically arranged a simulator-use loan for you."
"Ding! Your 1-million-point loan has been approved! All Life Simulator functions are now unlocked. Welcome, and the System wishes you an early rise to the pinnacle of life!"
A 1-million-point loan from the start?
Shen Nian: "Holy crap?! Thanks a lot, you simulator assassin!"
