After the First Wizarding War, Anastasia Dearborn, an Unspeakable in the Department of Mysteries, accidentally discovers that her Prophecy Orb has made a terrifying prediction. Having lost her only family, Anastasia chooses to survive the turbulent postwar years by exchanging her Prophecy Orb for the one belonging to the late Regulus Black. After accidentally falling through the veil in the Death Chamber, she returns to the autumn of 1976. Determined to change the fate that led to her father's disappearance, Anastasia discovers that the exchange of the Prophecy Orbs seems to have bound her fate tightly to that of another time traveler.

Anastasia Esther Dearborn was born on February 19, 1961, into a wizarding family in Godric's Hollow. She graduated from Ravenclaw House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in June 1978. She is the daughter of Caradoc Dearborn, a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Dawn drove away the shadow of war, but brought Anastasia no happiness: she endured the Death Eaters' vengeance and separation from loved ones, more painful than any suffering.

* Set during the First Wizarding War, this story follows Anastasia Dearborn as an accident sends her back to her fifth year. There, she joins forces with Regulus Black, who has also traveled back in time, to change the future that was meant to be.

* Some descriptive passages are quoted from Harry Potter.

* There is a romance, a little more than in canon, but the plot is the main focus. Existing canon couples will remain intact, including all unrequited romantic feelings.

* The story draws on the original worldbuilding but significantly alters canon. Voldemort is dealt with once and for all ahead of schedule, and the story ends after the First Wizarding War.

* The female lead is never a member of the Order of the Phoenix in any timeline and has no omniscient perspective. Many of her analyses that differ from canon are based on her own point of view, not plot holes.
