Story Blurb:
Clear-eyed, cool-hearted heroine vs. gentle, devoted hero
She transmigrated to the end of the Warring States period, an era of turbulent change and grand upheaval, when civilization sparked brilliant flames amid chaos and countless dazzling figures from history met along the stars of fate, shaping the world and maneuvering for power.
But none of that had much to do with Zhao Huaijin.
She was merely a daughter of King Zhao, with one lifelong duty: grow up safely in the palace, then marry off as a political pawn, bear children, and manage the household.
Huaijin propped her chin on her hand and spent a while admiring the life whose end she could see from the beginning. Then she put on men's clothes and headed to Linzi in the state of Qi.
And so the most celebrated libationer of Jixia Academy took on his youngest disciple, the most arrogant young scion in Qi gained an even more arrogant big brother, and the most luxurious taverns and gambling houses in Linzi introduced new attractions. Smiling, Huaijin emptied the purses of all the nobles.
Later, when Zhao fell into turmoil, Zhao Huaijin wandered over to Qin and entered the Qin palace openly, becoming one of the king's officials. The Qin court was periodically rocked to its foundations. The all-powerful chancellor retired, the powerful general returned his tally and went to guard the border, and even the women in the Qin king's harem learned that Magistrate Zhao was not to be trifled with.
Huaijin weighed the sword in her hand and pointed it at the enemy with whom she had a blood feud, still smiling faintly.
After single-handedly stirring up the world, Zhao Huaijin propped her chin on her hand and spent a while admiring her own tumultuous life. She decided to keep her achievements secret, pat herself on the backside, and leave.
But... she couldn't.
Zhang Liang, courtesy name Zifang: a sage strategist whose name would go down in history, a peerless genius renowned across the seven states, and the senior fellow disciple she would forever remember as a man of luminous virtue and profound integrity. He gripped her wrist and looked into her eyes, asking gently, “Where are you going, Heng'er?”
P.S. The youthful chapters are in first person. The young adult and adult chapters are in third person.
The story spans from the late Warring States period to the early Han dynasty.
Content warning: The heroine is self-interested and applies double standards. She's the type to wrong the world before letting the world wrong her. Don't read if that bothers you.
Coming-Soon Story
Blurb:
Her ex-boyfriend's best friend became Lin Qianxun's latest target.
Under the neon lights, she pretended to be drunk and draped herself over him, speaking sweetly into his ear. “Gu Liangxiao, I'm drunk.”
The girl's hot breath brushed his ear, and Gu Liangxiao felt as if he were standing in a furnace.
He didn't dare put his arms around her, only gently steadying her on her feet. He shouldn't be getting so close to Qianxun. She was his good friend's ex-girlfriend, after all. But when he couldn't stop himself from wanting to get closer to her again and again, Gu Liangxiao felt despicable.
Amid the dazzling lights, Lin Qianxun watched the man's throat bob and his hands struggle to stay restrained. She knew that if she looked up, she would see the conflict in Gu Liangxiao's eyes.
She had been playing the field for over twenty years, and had dated enough men to fill two soccer teams. She had never met a man like Gu Liangxiao.
He was clearly head over heels for her, yet insisted on sticking to his rigid code of friendship. His love surged like a raging sea, yet he still tried desperately to suppress it.
Lin Qianxun loved this side of Gu Liangxiao.
For the three years after they met, she changed boyfriends again and again, and Gu Liangxiao congratulated her every time.
Before every new relationship, she would tease him with a grin. “Gu Liangxiao, I'm about to be off the market again. Do you have anything to say to me?”
But Gu Liangxiao never said a word.
So they remained like this, neither able to get closer nor pull away, with no end in sight.
Until Yan Ge appeared, pure and passionate, and captured all of Lin Qianxun's attention. For the first time, Gu Liangxiao got drunk enough to lose control.
“I have something to say!” Gu Liangxiao unusually blocked her in the doorway, his manner forceful.
His handsome face was deathly pale. Qianxun watched him with amusement, waiting for him to continue.
“I...”
“What?”
Gu Liangxiao's chest heaved, but in the end he couldn't say a word.
Lin Qianxun smiled indifferently and turned to leave, but the man who had always been as calm as a tranquil lake pinned her against the wall and kissed her hard, lingering on her lips.
Theme: Life is short. Do your best to pursue what you love.
It's so melancholy. It would be great if Zhang Liang could go to modern times and meet the heroine after his death.
I really like this story by the author. I have read so many novels that travel back in time to real history, but there are few that travel back to the Warring States period and are so well written. I feel that the core of this novel is somewhat similar to that of Bu Bu Jing Xin. Traveling to ancient times does not actually lead to a golden finger. You will only be caught up in the torrent of history, and you can't help it. Facing the ancient system, the views of the ancients will only cause modern people to be physically and mentally devastated. The conflict between Chu and Han in the later period was the most heart-wrenching to watch because of the hostility between family and husband. The choice of family ties and love made Huaijin sad. However, Huaijin was luckier than Ruoxi. Ruoxi could not see through it and could not let go, so she died in depression. Huaijin finally made her choice and Zhang Liang lived up to her lifelong affection. The historical figures described by the author all follow history and will be marked even if there are any changes. Many of the characters who appeared at the beginning were not well understood because the author wrote them in big letters, so they went to the Internet to find information to understand. In fact, it is not easy to write novels that travel back in time to real history. I have also read a lot of junk time travel novels that were too different from history, or because they were so open that I gave up writing them. The author is able to connect a series of characters and history on the basis of history. Among them, Zhang Liang, a historical figure, has always been my favorite since I was studying history. I wanted to continue reading it because the male protagonist is Zhang Liang. The Zhang Liang described by the author fully meets my expectations. He is a generational seeker - strategizing and winning from thousands of miles away. This sentence is one of the reasons why I liked him in the first place. In addition, I was impressed by the author's portrayal of the supporting characters. I liked Zheng Ge the most in the early stage and Xiang Yu in the later stage. Brother Zheng deserves to be the emperor of the ages. He is more popular in the author's writing. Of course, this does not diminish his achievements in politics. When I studied history in the early years, many people said that he was a tyrant, but in my opinion, his achievements definitely outweighed his faults. I thank the author for not vilifying him because he is a supporting role. Xiang Yu made me feel sad. The rise and fall of his family forced him, a young man, to grow up and do things he didn't like. His love with Ying'er was touching. Li Qingzhao praised him as "a hero in life and a hero in death" and he deserved it. In the end, the love between Zhang Liang and Huai Jin really liked the author's theme - love will not fade away even if life is gone. They have had ups and downs along the way, and they will quarrel, be sad, and have doubts just like ordinary couples. They are made of flesh and blood so that readers can empathize with them. Although Huaijin finally returned to modern times and did not die with Zhang Liang, I liked this ending better than the happy ending (I just like sadistic novels hehe). Life is wonderful with imperfections. "Life is a return, death is a long-lasting love" Zhang Liangning's Huaijin's life. "Born in the same quilt, dead in the same cave" they stayed together in the end. After reading the entire novel, a touch of melancholy lingered in my heart. This is the long aftertaste of a good book. There is a lot more I want to say, and every character impressed me deeply. Finally, I am very grateful to have come across this book and the author!
God knows, I was watching Zhang Liang crying bitterly while holding Huai Jin's body. I really wanted to tell Zhang Liang that you deserved to be tortured to death. I couldn't forgive him for pretending to be dead to plot his feelings, not killing Shen Yin, being intimate with the maid, threatening Huai Jin with his daughter, and hugging Ruan Lihuan. I don't know how Huai Jin could forgive her. However, Huaijin really loved him, and I could feel the strong and deep love between them, so I reluctantly accepted this son-in-law. I loved Huai Jin so much when King Zhao was killed and before Zhang Liang faked his death. He exuded vigorous vitality and could use his talents and make friends as he wished. I could understand even if he was used to kill that kind little girl. It is a pity that she followed Zhang Liang in the later period. It is undeniable that she lived a comfortable life, but she always felt that she had become Zhang Liang's vassal and gave up her independent spirit. Therefore, in the later stage, she always worried about Huaijin that she would not be respected and controlled by others, so she became the heroine's own mother, hahaha.
Maybe because life is already very hard, I often think of the beauty of the teenage novels, and I always hope that all my favorite novels will end in a happy time. However, even the carefree youth is mixed with a lot of separation, so I sigh that this is life. After a long journey, we have to say goodbye. The literary meeting we have been chasing for a long time is over. The person we love no longer will pass away. After all, life will not bring us with us, and death will not take us away. . I don't have the courage to watch it again now, but after reading the extras, my heart still hurts a little o(╥╥)o Even the small supporting characters in the author's writing are very well-written. Speaking of the various historical figures I like, Zheng Ge, Liang, Wei Liao, Gan Luo, Sang Chu, they all seem like a living person in front of me. I feel like the heroine herself, feeling her love, hate, anger and obsession. I especially like a piece of copy sent to the author, "Perhaps you once loved someone who was not at the same time as you, people of the same dimension You crawled through the gaps between the years, trying to smell his breath. You flipped through the pages of books and scrolls. Psalm wants to find the clues he left behind. You even want to try your best to protect him, even if you are laughed at as stupid. Even if he died long ago, or simply lived in fictitious writing, But it makes you dream. Sometimes you feel that you know him just as he knows you. If he is alive, he must be I know you He is not a peach blossom in this world. He is your fine wine, the bones of your past, and your The most true, pure and supreme unrequited love. "Drinking as a Punishment"
Why is it not Yu Ji who died, but the heroine? Didn't the author keep saying that destiny cannot be violated? I really hate the heroine's daughter. Although I put myself in the shoes of a teenage child, it seems that this is the reaction when something like that happens, but I just don't like it.
I'm so reluctant to let go, I cried when I saw it
Unconventional, but I kinda hate that it's unconventional
How could you stab me like this if you are such a bad person? Woooooooooooooooooo
Feeling lost, but still not satisfied, as if following Huaijin through a wonderful adventure in life
Alas, I feel sorry for my brother Zheng. Don't you have a side story? Even a modern side story is fine. In fact, I really want to see a modern line between him and the heroine.
