Xin Rujui, bound to the System That Makes Heroes of the Times, completed her final mission as a hero: die alongside the Demon Lord.
When she awoke again, six hundred years had passed. Every achievement she had earned through a lifetime of courage had been stolen by those who envied her, and they had even smeared her as a Bloodfiend who colluded with the Demon Lord!
Everyone in the Origin Realm feared her, and the five great families called for her head at every turn.
System: You can put up with that? Activate me, and I'll make you a hero of the Origin Realm again!
Xin Rujui: No way! Anyone who wants to be the fall guy hero can do it themselves!
People discovered that the Bloodfiend was cultivating Bone Ridge, restoring spiritual lands, and saving endangered animals. Every one of her deeds benefited future generations. Day after day, the righteous five great families were outshone by the achievements of villain Xin Rujui, working themselves ragged until their eyes crossed.
The five great families: Something seems off...
Demon Lord Xi Yuanting: My most delightful creation in the mortal world, I'm back! Surprised?
Xin Rujui: Wait, who are you?
Demon Lord Xi Yuanting: Sob, sob. You seduced me and then abandoned me, and now you're pretending not to know me? You're so heartless. I love you so much!
Xin Rujui: ...I don't have to be a hero, but I absolutely have to kill this guy!!
The melodramatic Demon Lord Xi Yuanting, who is great at convincing himself of things, x the former hero Xin Rujui, who now just wants to loaf around and give up
Bonus scene:
The demon world's seal broke, and Demon Lord Xi Yuanting, who had once died alongside her, came back to life and descended upon the mortal world. Humanity suffered terribly, and her old adversaries came begging her to return to action.
Xin Rujui, following the villain's script written by the righteous path: He's my light, my electricity, the only husband I'll ever follow. How could I bear to fight him?
Demon Lord Xi Yuanting, who had planned to take revenge on Xin Rujui as soon as he revived: "???"
So she really does have feelings for me!
