A Valentine's Day special. A writing exercise to fill in the gaps, just for fun.
"Even at the very end, it could only borrow the face and voice of the woman he loved and hated to appear before him, and tell him a love story he would like to hear."
This story was inspired by "Song of the Birth Gazer: Lantern Festival." The original poem is reproduced below:
Song of the Birth Gazer: Lantern Festival
Ouyang Xiu, Northern Song Dynasty
Last year, on the night of the Lantern Festival,
the flower market blazed with lantern light.
The moon rose above the willow tips,
and we met after dusk.
This year, on the night of the Lantern Festival,
the moon and lanterns are just as before.
But the one from last year is nowhere to be seen;
tears soak the sleeves of my spring robe.
Note: "Qing Hong" was an elegant ancient name for a lamp.
Theme: I give you my heart's devotion; you give me your deep affection.
