The joys of youth often come without warning. At seventeen and eighteen, Zhao Xianchen and Jiang Yue met in the martial world. An accident caused Jiang Yue to forget the boy who had once been part of his life, the boy who always called him by his childhood name, Qingchi. Zhao Xianchen had hoped to retreat from the martial world, but instead got dragged into the world of powerful clans and imperial politics. Forced to accept the duty passed down through his family for generations, he became the imperial family's shadow and blade. Five years later, the Canglan campaign broke out, and the two young men met again. Their opposing sides and schemes set in motion by friends and family tore them apart once more. Another five years passed, and Zhao Xianchen returned to the capital as the political landscape grew increasingly turbulent. Will the two overcome every obstacle and finally find their way to each other?
