The story can probably be summed up like this: Jason and Bucky help each other out. Later, Jason and Bucky make a family with Steve in Brooklyn, New York, but that doesn't mean Jason cuts ties with his original family. Jason gains more friends, like the Avengers, and more family, Bucky and Steve, as well as a boyfriend, and he becomes happier too.

Before-you-read note: The pairing in this story is Stucky, with no fixed top or bottom. Later chapters include KyleJay, also with no fixed top or bottom.

Also, Batman isn't a good dad early on in this series. Jason leaves Gotham because of him. The original puts it aptly: he acts like a bat instead of a person. Later, he changes and learns how to be a person, and his relationship with Jason improves too.
