The Little Jasmine Sprite Is Three and a Half [1960S]

This novel will go VIP starting with Chapter 17 on August 22~ The Gourmet System thought it was the unluckiest thing ever. Getting struck by lightning because of a newly sentient jasmine spirit while searching for a Host was bad enough, but after finally bringing her to another world, it ended up attached to a three-and-a-half-year-old girl who had just died. It thought, well, three and a half was still three and a half. At least her soul belonged to a jasmine spirit, so completing the mission should be no problem. Who could have guessed that this jasmine spirit had only just developed a mind of her own, and was even less intelligent than a real three-and-a-half-year-old? When it saw the Host make steamed buns so hard they could crack walnuts, and so black they looked charred, the Gourmet System declared: [Destroy it all. Even ghosts wouldn't eat these buns, and you expect diners to approve of them? This mission is doomed!] But it had overlooked the era they were living in. This was a time of famine, and buns this solid, once soaked in water, could save lives! As for scrambled eggs with eggshells in them, meat soup greasy enough to make you sick, and fried rice so salty it made your throat burn, the people who received these meals didn't complain. They were so moved they nearly knelt down and kowtowed to little Jasmine on the spot. Seeing diners genuinely approve of the Host's cooking, despite it being a collection of dark culinary horrors, the Gourmet System was stunned: [That works?!] * When the educated youth were sent to the countryside, they all thought the villagers of Yangshu Village were impossible to get along with, a village full of troublesome characters. Yet those same troublesome characters, in the eyes of the educated youth, were all warm and kind to little Jasmine, treating her even better than their own daughters. P.S. This is an alternate historical setting. Please don't nitpick the details. Coming soon: "The Three-and-a-Half-Year-Old Kid Transmigrates into a Book [Period]" The Zuan System had collected tens of millions of Zuan insults and guided one Zuan expert after another, cursing out scumbag men, snapping hopeless romantics out of it, and becoming unbeatable in every argument. But just as it was about to retire, it got mistakenly bound to a three-year-old toddler, Shi An'an. The System, a gold-medal veteran, suffered a spectacular career failure. Facing a sneering, sinister, vicious villain, the System coached her: "What the hell are you supposed to be?!" Shi An'an gathered her courage and stammered, "Y-you're... you're a... a little cookie!" The villain: What's going on? She's kind of cute. Facing a sweet, delicate, artsy green tea schemer, the System coached her: "I've never seen a lotus this green. Truly, it rises unstained from the mud." Shi An'an smiled with all sincerity, her words fuzzy and indistinct: "Big Sister, are you a flow-flow? I like flow-flow so much!" The schemer: Whose child is this? Can I take her home? The System, exasperated, pleaded with her: "Do you remember what I told you?" Shi An'an looked downcast and twiddled her fingers. "But the director said we're not allowed to say bad words." The System... The System stayed up all night deleting its Zuan insult database. * Shi An'an grew up awkwardly in an orphanage, making it to the age of three and a half, but died of a high fever one winter day. When she opened her eyes again, she was in a strange home, with a chattering voice in her head. It told her she had transmigrated into a book, and that she could only grow up if she successfully changed the original story. Shi An'an hadn't read many books and didn't know what villains, cannon fodder, or green tea schemers were. She only realized that lots of people liked her, and that she liked it here too. Theme: Food is the paramount necessity of the people.
