The man sensed her gaze, looked up, and met her eyes. Seeing her calm yet resolute expression, he gave a wicked, amused smile and asked, "Beautiful lady, can I help you?" He was very handsome, but Aijing seemed not to notice as she sat across from him. "Don't think you can do whatever you want around any woman just because you're handsome." A glint of amusement flashed in the man's eyes. "What makes you say that, miss? Are you asking to have a meal with me?"
Aijing looked over the menu as she answered, "I can tell from your eyes that you think women are easy to win over, especially when it comes to you. But sorry, I'm not here to dine with you. This was the seat I wanted in the first place. We have nothing to do with each other, so let's each eat our own meal."
The man studied her with even greater interest. What an unusual woman! Just then, a waiter came over, and they each ordered and began to eat.
"My name is Fang Zhe," the man suddenly said without looking up.
Aijing didn't look up either. "Why are you telling me? Is there any need?"
Fang Zhe slowly raised his head. "I don't know. I just didn't want to go against what I felt inside. Otherwise, I'd feel awful."
Aijing took a small sip of juice. "It doesn't mean much to me, but I'll remember it. Maybe we'll meet again if fate allows." With that, she called the waiter over to pay. Fang Zhe smiled. "Miss, would you mind paying for mine too?" Aijing's expression remained unchanged. "Why should I? I don't think you can't afford a single meal." Fang Zhe raised an eyebrow slightly, apparently not expecting her to say that. Then he said, "Because fate brought us together. We're fellow countrymen meeting in a foreign land. It can't be too much to ask you to treat me to a meal, can it?"
Aijing looked up and met his gaze. "It wouldn't be too much, but I don't want to spend the money I earned on someone who doesn't need help."
