Jiang Cixin was a nobody two years after his debut. He acted in a low-budget web drama as the fifth male lead, and at the press conference his outfit happened to match the male lead's. The male lead's fans immediately dragged him to the top of the trending topics, cursing him: "He's not even famous, yet he loves riding on someone else's coattails."
His manager was tearing his hair out. He wasn't famous yet, and had already lost the public's goodwill. It looked like he might never make it.
Just when they were at a loss, the manager of Shen Ke, a top-tier singer and superstar, contacted them and offered to work together.
Shen Ke was a hugely popular superstar with countless fans ever since his debut. He was an Alpha with good looks and a beautiful voice, and had never been involved in a scandal or negative news. He was Jiang Cixin's idol.
Jiang Cixin: ???? A windfall from the heavens! My idol wants to fake a couple pairing with me!
"You can take a look at this before we work together." Shen Ke's manager handed him a little booklet, carefully marking out how to play up their pairing.
Jiang Cixin unexpectedly went into heat, and Shen Ke gave him a temporary mark.
During a livestream, the host asked a pointed question: "A few days ago, someone photographed you two going in and out of a hotel together. Is it true?"
Jiang Cixin: "It was for work. Everyone stayed at the same hotel."
Shen Ke: "We shared a room."
They spoke almost at the same time. Jiang Cixin was so shocked he nearly lost his composure. Wait... can he say that? The playbook didn't mention this!
CP fans: I'm shipping them! Shen Ke and Jiang Cixin are real!
Solo fans: They didn't even discuss their act beforehand. Their relationship must be terrible.
Jiang Cixin was photographed eating with someone, and sharp-eyed fans noticed a bite mark on his neck. Everyone started guessing which Alpha had left it, and CP fans and haters argued fiercely.
Shen Ke posted on Weibo: I did it.
Fans: They're showing off this much. It'll be hard to wrap things up if they don't get married.
