You Are the Beginning of the Letter

Although Wen Yuqiu and Sheng Yue are in the same class, they're like parallel lines that never cross. They have nothing in common.

One of them is a poor student who can barely get by on financial aid, while the other is a young master born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

The day their paths crossed was when Sheng Yue's former deskmate confessed to him in front of the whole school. Sheng Yue's deskmate was a boy, and the whole school was in an uproar.

And so Wen Yuqiu, whom the entire class agreed cared only about studying, was assigned to sit beside Sheng Yue.

Sheng Yue dismissed the homeroom teacher's arrangement. No one could resist his damn charm!

But after sitting beside Wen Yuqiu for two months, he realized she really didn't seem interested in him. She was as cold as an ice cube, and the only interaction they had each day was her asking him for his homework.

One morning, Sheng Yue happened to arrive at school very early.

He saw with his own eyes as his aloof deskmate sneakily slipped a letter into his desk, like a thief.

Looking at the love letter in his hand, Sheng Yue couldn't help smirking. So much for acting aloof. She liked me just like everyone else!

But after a while, Sheng Yue began to fret.

He couldn't understand how anyone could act cold toward him to his face, then secretly bring him breakfast and water behind his back.

Wen Yuqiu... did she have a split personality or something?

Finally, one day, Sheng Yue couldn't take it anymore and texted Wen Yuqiu.

Sheng Yue: If you like me, you can just tell me. Stop playing hard to get. Your hot-and-cold act is exhausting me, seriously.

She replied instantly: I don't like you.

Sheng Yue: ?

Sheng Yue: I don't believe you!

Wen Yuqiu: ...?

Wen Yuqiu: Some money really isn't worth taking, like when someone pays you to deliver a love letter.

Sheng Yue: Damn, this is so annoying. How can someone write a love letter and not sign their name?
