"You come here every day just to see her?"
"And then what? Confess and tell her you like her? Tell her you're the one who gave her notes throughout all three years of high school? Or ask if she remembers you, if she remembers you from thirteen years ago, when you were kids?"
"If I could, I'd give her a jasmine plant."

On a rainy day, the damp air grew heavy.
Lin Enxi stared out the window at the endless rain, bored. Then she suddenly thought the song playing in the shop sounded nice, and casually asked what it was called.
"Jasmine Rain."
The boy sitting beside her answered.
She turned to look at him and thought he seemed familiar.
Then she remembered: he was the top student in her grade, his photo always displayed on the school's honor board, the one the principal and teachers treated like a treasure.
"Thanks."
The bell above the door rang. Lin Enxi picked up her umbrella and hurried out of his world once again.
All that remained in his sight was the white mist the rain had blurred across the window, and a faint fingerprint that had yet to dry.
That was the only time he and Lin Enxi ever touched.
The song Jasmine Rain had reached its final line, too.
"The old walls of the ancient town turn green again as another year passes. The courtyard is full of jasmine, yet I still wait in vain for you."

▲I politely decline any nitpicking about the female lead, claims that she's bad in this way or that, that she doesn't deserve the male lead's love, or questions about why he likes her. The male lead was created for the female lead. Loving her is the only reason I created him. Blaming the female lead on the male lead's behalf is completely backwards. Whether she has flaws or strengths, she is absolutely right and absolutely loved.
