The six-year-old Eighth Prince woke up one morning to find that the whole world had changed.
The Crown Prince, who had always ignored him, was suddenly paying him a lot of attention.
His Fourth Brother, who had never really interacted with him, had suddenly become cold and strict.
His Eldest Brother, who had never been especially nice or unkind to him, sighed whenever he saw him.
His Ninth and Tenth Brothers, who had never played with him before, came running over to hug his legs and call him "Big Brother" all day long.
His Imperial Father, who had never paid much attention to him, suddenly took it into his head to quiz him on his lessons every day.
And his Third, Fifth, and Seventh Brothers all looked at him with pity for some reason. Sure, his birth wasn't exactly auspicious, but was it really that bad?
Yinsi's little head was full of questions. What on earth had happened?
Later, his Imperial Father and brothers all looked at him with a strange sort of tenderness, like... the way the Old Ancestor looked at the younger members of the family.
Yinsi (trembling): Don't do that. You're scaring me.
Much later, the Eighth Prince finally remembered his past life and realized that his Imperial Father and brothers had all been reborn long ago.
Then he thought of the things he'd done over the years, back when he was young and knew no better. The gentle smile he always wore finally crumbled.
Yinsi glanced at the brothers who had come to visit him by his bed. Taking a deep breath, he forced a smile and ushered them all out.
But he could chase them away once, not keep doing it forever. He could chase his brothers out, but not his Imperial Father.
The smile on Yinsi's face gradually stiffened: ...Tsk.
*Centered on Yinsi, with a large ensemble cast. Everyone is reborn, all of them old ghosts who floated back from hundreds of years ago.
*Lighthearted, with a little parody, some angst and occasional silliness. Comedy at its core, with history and characters deliberately altered.
*No succession struggle. I haven't decided who will take the throne, but it will probably happen naturally, since everyone knows what happened in their past lives.
*No couples. There may be an offscreen wife, but this story is about father-son and brotherly bonds, not romance.
