This is the story of Xie Ying's life. When she was little, her parents left her and her younger brother, Xie Dong, in the countryside to be raised by their grandparents while they worked away from home. Their grandfather, who loved buying lottery tickets, won a prize and bought a house in the city, so Xie Ying and Xie Dong went to school there. For the first few years, Xie Ying thought she was the happiest person in the world. But her parents' relationship gradually deteriorated, and eventually they divorced. Xie Ying grew up completely through this storm, but her relationship with her younger brother slowly grew distant. Xie Ying was no longer the carefree child she had once been, and the pressure on her kept mounting.
