Married First, Celebrated Later

Qu Qi never imagined that, as the famously timid one in her circle of friends, she would inherit a candle and incense shop.

[No transferring or renting it out. You must run the shop yourself.]

[Offer incense at midnight every tenth day. Never use candlelight.]

Trembling as she entered a haunted house themed around ghost weddings to work up her courage, Qu Qi clutched the hem of her clothes, eyes brimming with tears as she thought of the shop's eerie facade.

Paper figures, a bridal sedan, red thread. The shoddily made set left Qu Qi dizzy with fear. She stumbled into a dead end, where an ancient mirror, carved with flowers and phoenixes, glimmered faintly.

In the mirror, the bride's wedding gown was bloodred.

As she screamed, Qu Qi's mind shut down completely. Barely recalling the instructions for clearing the room, she grabbed the gilded wedding sash in front of her. Her terror was so intense that she forgot to wonder how she could hold an illusory image in her arms.

The hurried footsteps gradually faded into the distance. On the ground, the eyes of a deathly pale paper figure began to move.

"Miss, the ceremony is complete."
