“Why is your face red? Weren't you so bold yesterday?”
When he said that, I felt my face grow even redder. All my bravado from yesterday had vanished. What was I supposed to do? I was no match for him at all. The last of my courage went into meeting his eyes.
He was less than ten centimeters away. I worked up the nerve to look at him because I couldn't escape his burning gaze. I could only go for it, blushing. We were so close that I felt my breath wash over his face. The space was cramped, making me even more nervous, and I unconsciously pressed my lips together.
Suddenly, he turned his head and gave a dry cough, then backed away. I noticed the tips of his ears had turned bright red.
I was still wondering why his ears were red, and whether I had imagined it, when he opened the driver's door.
I looked at his ears. The blush hadn't faded; it still lingered there. Then I looked at his profile, and even that was a little red.
“Stop looking, Su Tian. I'm afraid I won't be able to hold back.”
“Hold back what?” I asked, completely confused.
He turned and leaned toward me. The tip of his nose was just about to touch mine when I suddenly felt an electric jolt shoot through my mind. I realized what he meant and quickly ducked my head.
He laughed above me. “You're not as clueless as I thought.”
