In those days, the Ye clan was at the height of its power. Prince Xiu petitioned the ruler of Jin to form an alliance with Li, Lu, and thirteen other territories, unifying the smaller states and joining forces with the entire army of Dongling to resist the northern and southern allied armies. Prince Xiu was also known as the greatest general under heaven. In Fang Qiming's Heroes of the World, it is written: "Oaths sworn in the mountains, letters of love never lost; the Han moon shines a thousand miles, good news fades into dreams; the spirit of the beloved, peerless beneath the heavens." The four greatest figures of the age were Han Yue and Ming Qing. Though Prince Xiu ranked last, he was in truth the most talented of them all. His fame was so great that it even surpassed that of the ruler of Jin. People of the time knew only Prince Xiu, not Ye Rongjin, the ruler of Jin.

This is more or less the backstory to Peerless Under Heaven. It draws on the History of the Sui and the Comprehensive Mirror in Aid of Governance. I was too lazy to work out a detailed outline...
I wrote this two years ago, and it's rather messy. I'm posting it here to motivate myself to finish this abandoned story ╮(╯_╰)╭

My dear, actually you might as well finish the main text first when writing a side story, really. This is really torturous. What I want to say is------ Wu Wei Rui has definitely given up???
Seeing your speed and the holes you dug, I am really speechless
