A book dedicated to a reader friend.
No drama. Comments are closed because some comments on the free chapters contain people who haven't read further, false warnings, and even personal attacks.
The internet is full of hostility, and everyone has a heart. The male and female leads are both precious to the author, so please treat one another with respect.
As I've said before, there are countless great novels on Jinjiang. If this one isn't for you, just move on.
Retro-futurism / romance-focused / both leads grow, neither is perfect / personal attacks are not welcome
Pretty, innocent big puppy (or so he pretends) × little ray of sunshine amid the flames of war
Si Yuan (Si Linzhi) × Gao Yan
Gao Yan transmigrates into a sci-fi war romance, becoming a cannon-fodder supporting female character who shares her name.
The one unusual detail is that she's the male lead's original wife.
No one else knows, but Gao Yan knows perfectly well that the male lead is a blackened villain in the making, capable of laying waste to the world. She decides she'll pick a good day to divorce him. But then she sees the helpless, vulnerable look in his eyes...
When you're mired in the mud, good and evil aren't up to you or me to decide. What bad thoughts could a little one have? He was just left traumatized by what happened to him as a child!
"Don't worry, Linzhi. I'll protect you." Gao Yan, whose powers haven't awakened and whose body isn't compatible with a mecha, solemnly takes Si Yuan's hand and promises him.
"All right." The man's features are breathtakingly beautiful. When he smiles with his eyes, it's as though he could steal every color in the world. Gao Yan is left dazed, unaware that the man is quietly waving his long, finely boned fingers behind his back, making all the mechas hidden nearby disappear from sight.
"It's all thanks to Yan Yan protecting me."
"!!!" I'd give my life for you!
His political enemies sneer: Some people fall in love, some stare out at the sea at night, and some hunt spies by day, then go home and pretend to be helpless little things, saying, "Yan Yan, give me a kiss."
His less-than-loving father sneers: At fifteen, he became the only survivor of the Exile Game, walking over a pile of corpses. At twenty, he broke away from the Si family and went independent. At twenty-five, he became the empire's youngest major general. And now he's come crawling to Gao Yan like a dog.
"If anything happens to my wife, I will hold everyone here responsible."
[Please note: 1. The setting leans toward vacuum-tube punk. You don't need to know anything about it to enjoy the story, which is primarily romance. 2. The male lead did not cheat on his wife in the original story; there were extenuating circumstances. 3. The female lead isn't a saint. She grows over the course of the story.]
[This is a writing exercise, an uncomplicated romance with no logic. I kept writing to honor the readers who have been waiting. Thank you for sticking with me.]
Below is the blurb for another upcoming novel.
"The Sword Spirit's Got It Best". A goofy, sweet apocalypse romance
Zhan Muye × Ju Chaoxi
A ruthless, hot-tempered iron-blooded big shot × a chatterbox, shamelessly flirtatious, fussy sword spirit
Ju Chaoxi transmigrates into another world besieged by zombies, becoming... a sword at the side of a powerful big shot.
Her new master charges into battle with her, but the sight of the pus-covered, stinking zombies makes Ju Chaoxi scream in despair: "What are those hideous things? Get away from me!"
And then Ju Chaoxi shamefully goes limp.
The big shot: ?
After that, people in the apocalypse watch the max-level big shot carry around a sword that keeps going on about how it's invincible, only to go limp and play dead whenever a fight starts. He punches his way through, barehanded, and cuts a bloody path through the hordes.
Ju Chaoxi: "Whoa! So cool! So handsome! So hard (?)."
Zhan Muye: "Shut up, you pervert."
And so the big shot sets off with a sword that can shower him with every kind of over-the-top praise.
"Baby, I'm scared outside, so can you tuck me down your pants?"
"Get lost."
"Baby, one of my sword friends is about to die. Before it goes, it sent me 50 yuan and said it wants to see a man's abs. Could you grant its dying wish?"
"Is your friend called 'Being a Pervert'?"
"Baby, can you carry me in front? I want to snuggle up to your boobs!"
"When are you going to die already?"
When Zhan Muye fights his way through the villains, covered in wounds, and finds Ju Chaoxi tied up in a sword furnace...
"You pervert, I'm here to get you out."
"That's so touching. But baby, can you stop calling me a pervert? I'm a pretty young woman."
"..."
"It's been so long. Let me snuggle up to your big boobs." Just then, Ju Chaoxi gathers enough energy to take human form.
Ju Chaoxi: "..." Shit!
Zhan Muye's gaze lingers, unreadable, on the pale, milky-white scene in his arms. She really is a pretty young woman.
*A very unserious apocalypse story
*Mostly romance. The apocalypse accounts for one percent of the story
*A spur-of-the-moment labor of love
*May every woman who talks a big game find love
Second novel
"After Transmigrating into a Pretty Hamster Darling". A lie-flat, adored-by-everyone story
A lazy little mouse × a workaholic CEO
The little hamster spirit Cang Shu transmigrates into a book, becoming the heroine's beautiful but utterly useless stepsister, a vicious contrast character.
According to the plot, she'll soon join her villainous fiance, Wei Rucheng, on a slow-paced reality show about wealthy families. There, the hero and heroine will outshine her in every way.
Cang Shu, after learning how the story goes: "This little mouse hates competing for everything!"
Besides, she's got a portable space. She might as well lie flat, eat her fill, and wait for death.
Wei Rucheng went missing at four and wasn't found until he was sixteen. Thanks to his extraordinary talent, he later made a stunning comeback and became the hottest candidate to inherit the Wei family's business empire.
This slow-paced reality show is the final test Grandpa Wei has arranged to assess Wei Rucheng's character.
If Wei Rucheng passes, he'll be entrusted with an independent role at the helm of a business empire worth tens of billions.
Wei Rucheng is ambitious and full of confidence, right up until he meets his fiancee.
Even lazier:
At the break of dawn, the hero and heroine set off early to look for ingredients in the mountains. Viewers are united in their admiration for the couple's self-discipline.
Wei Rucheng is getting ready to leave too, but sees Cang Shu stretching lazily in bed. She smiles. "This little mouse is stuck to a glue trap. I can't get up."
Wei Rucheng: ?
The viewers who came to yell at her after hearing about it: ...That's so relatable. Suddenly I don't feel like yelling anymore.
Even greedier:
The starving main cast don't know what to do with the new ingredients. The hero and heroine earn unanimous praise in the comments for their knowledge as they explain the crops.
Wei Rucheng quietly starts preparing the ingredients, only to see Cang Shu silently pull a steamed bun from her clothes. She narrows her eyes with the weariness of someone who's seen it all. "On a late night like this, having a warm bun in your hands matters more than anything."
Wei Rucheng: "Wait, where did you get that bun?!"
Watching Cang Shu hold the bun in both hands and nibble obediently, viewers in front of their screens think: Is it just me, or is she kind of cute?
Even more clueless:
After their resources are restricted, the hero and heroine hunt in the wild. Their perfect teamwork, one skilled in strategy and the other in combat, sends the shippers into a frenzy.
To fix the bug where Cang Shu keeps pulling buns out of nowhere on the show, the production team sends someone to her side... to steal her buns.
After going an hour without eating, Cang Shu has no choice but to lunge at Wei Rucheng and look up at him with tearful eyes. "Little flying squirrel here is starving! Kind person, please spare a bit of food for this little mouse."
The viewers who are like her moms shriek: Oh, my useless little daughter! Give! Her! Bun! Back! Or we're going to make a scene!
Even more inclined to lie flat:
To test the couple's chemistry, the show sets up a haunted escape room.
After the hero and heroine are forced apart, they both actively search for clues to escape. They meet again at the final checkpoint, a perfect match.
After Wei Rucheng solves his own room in three minutes, he stares pensively at the room across from him, where nothing is happening.
Cang Shu: Zzz. Do not disturb.
As the terrifying NPC chases her, Cang Shu faces death with mysterious calm. "This little mouse is about to be done for today."
Then the dark, haunted room suddenly bursts into light. After a loud crash, someone steps out of the glow.
Wei Rucheng puts away the iron rod in his hand and says casually, "Little hamster, get behind me."
